(io9)   Cool: BBC changes lyrics of Monty Python's "Galaxy Song" to celebrate the wonders of biology. Even cooler: they got Eric Idle to sing it (w/ video)   ( io9.com) divider line

"The Penis Song" would have been more appropriate...

Nice, but it lacks the structure of the original.

Now if they make a third song about everything else, they will have Life, The Universe, and Everything!

Just watched Idle in the Harry Nilsson documentary, he seems like a down to earth guy and its rare to find a legend that can just go with the flow.

Made me smile. Well done ;)

DeltaPunch: One of the funnest things I've recently read is Wiki on the accuracy of the numbers and figures quoted in the original Galaxy Song:

Eric Idle sings that the Earth is "revolving at nine hundred miles an hour"; the actual figure (at the equator) is 1,038. He gives the Earth's orbital speed as 19 miles (31 km) per second, compared with the real figure of 18 to 18.5.

those pythons weren't picked out of a soupline...

they are all quite smart...

Like Dr. Johnathan Miller .... 'ave at some of his stuff...

an example of Miller...not of his comedy

That was frigging awesome. So well done.

Ah, Eric Idle. Is there nothing you won't whore yourself out for?

I don't mind it when it works, like Spamalot. But someone should have told him that He's Not the Messiah was going to be dull and unnecessary.
