Y'know, you could do this without the electronics with the right use of mirrors and a expanded area concealed under the base of the box

That's how the real TARDIS works, you know. Just a trick with a screen at the doorway and an app to make it look cavernous within. Also, the time travel bit is really just extraordinarily immersive LARPing.

Adric really did get blown up, though. Just not by Cybermen. (He really sucked at role-playing.)

...So how long before we get one of these on store shelves, with space inside to store The Doctor's action figure and an app that has different deskops, animations and sound effects? Maybe even collectible cards that have codes to unlock special downloadable expansions and adventures?

/Kids these days. They build all the cool toys we didn't have at their age.
//I remember I once built a "spaceship" that I could actually sit and ride around in one Christmas morning. Times were tough then, and I made it out of what I had available so I could pretend Santa had been there and left me a gift. It didn't really fly, of course. Or roll. Or light up or make sounds. I only had a cardboard box and some crayons, you see, and I wasn't allowed to use scissors or tape. So I pretty much just wrote "Spaceship" on the side and drew some buttons and switches and a window full of stars on one of the flaps. It was kind of hard, sitting all alone, my legs scrunched up under me in the box on the floor in my room, but I put one of the pillows from my bed in there as my "Space Chair" and pulled my t-shirt up over my head and used the neck-hole as the "visor" of my "space helmet" and played "Astronaut Man" for hours and hours until it was dark and I fell asleep in it and had be woken up to go to bed. I remember being reallt upset and fussing and crying until I was told that real astronauts had to have sleep time, too, and that if I was good I could have some Tang in the morning before "blast-off", just like the real astronauts did. Then when I woke up I went through a "countdown checklist" and "reported for duty" to get my cup of Tang, which was really just orange Kool-Aid made with half the normal amount of sugar, then I went straight back to my room and played "Astronaut Man" again the whole next day. It wasn't much, but it meant a lot to me back then. I still have that old box with the primitive scribbles and crude drawings on it, too.
\\\It was this Christmas.

Loved that part of the episode. Not sure why she left the door wide open, what with an ice governess on their tail.
