when i was a boy an aunt gave me a J.C. Penney gift card with a face value of $50.00. it was many weeks before Mom went to the mall and i was just dying to see what i could get with my card.

what a letdown for a young lad to find Penney's was primarily a clothing store. there were home goods and other adult related items that held no interest for me. what a bummer.

i found two pair of gym socks worthy of purchase. as no one explained to me how the card worked, i believed the cashier who told me i don't back get the cash left over. i accepted my fate and left.

years later i found out that cashier screwed me and pocketed the gift card with the remaining cash equivalent left on it. thanks for hiring dishonest people, J.C. Penney.

It would be great if the cards were for Petsmart.
