Wayne 985: Wayne 985: amo: English. What are you interested in?

Eventually teaching, so Education, History, or English would get me there, I suppose.

To specify, I'd either like to teach elementary school or focus on either History or English at a higher level.

Hit up the website of the school(s) you want to go to, they'll have major maps that will give you an idea of the kinds of classes you'll need to take for each major/minor. Also, check the requirements of the state you plan on working in, some of them require specific degrees and/or certifications. You'll want to check to see if it's worth getting your masters right off the bat. My sister-in-law got hers after being a teacher for a while in MO, then moved to IN, where they (apparently and bafflingly) prefer the teachers not have a masters. She had to dumb down her resume to get a job.

Good luck (we're all counting on you)!

dervish16108: As a younger (under 18) college students, I was more likely to try and partner/study with older students than those of typical age. Yes, I got the feeling older students knew more, but I also felt a bit out of place as a younger person, and figured I should find someone else who is also out of place, age-wise.

That's actually a pretty smart tactic, whether or not anyone's feeling out of place. I'm not saying older students are better students, but they do tend to have their shiat together as far as being serious about school, and they're way less likely to try to talk you into getting hammered the night before finals. XD Good on you for making it to college early. If I had it to do all over again, I'd drop out of high school at 16, get a GED, and then start college.

Wayne 985: For the record, her rationale about going back to school somewhat late is the same as my own. I'm 27 and have been putting it off for the same reasons. Looking to go back either in Spring or Summer for classes.

/CSB, etc.

Do it. I'll be 36 in March, and graduate with a BA in June. I didn't run into any crap from the younger ("traditional" is the politically correct term) students about me being an old fogey or anything. They did, however, tend to think I knew more than they did, or that I was understanding the material better. They're as intimidated by older ("non-traditional") students as you are by them. Maybe even a little more.

The nice thing about Photoshop, is the ability to adjust lighting and contrast to bring out the 'highlights' in a picture.

mcmnky: I never watched Boy Meets World during the original run, but when I saw reruns while flipping channels on a recent morning, I stopped to kill some kittens to Topanga.

Buy holy moly, why didn't anyone tell me about the hot red head? I would have checked out this show a long time ago if I had known. I rely on fark to bring these sorts of things to my attention.
