serial_crusher: I had a dog named Sandy growing up, so I can't possibly imagine why anybody would ever name their kid Sandy. That's a dog's name. Don't name your kid after a dog, you weirdo.

The way to reclaim the "good power" of a name after something happens to tarnish it is to reverse it for the next generation of children who take it. So, instead of Sandy, use Ydnas. The tradition does permit for the "normalization" of a name's spelling, so it could acceptably be altered to be Ednas or even Edna with a middle initial S. This is why, for example, there are so many Anrita Ks walking around out there.
