The wife and I used to do this with America's Most Wanted. Take a drink every time John Walsh says "Criminal," "Justice," or "Jail" OR any variation there of. We were toasty before the opening credits were over.

So, "we're bringing this criminal to justice." is two drinks. "That scumbag is in jail." Two drinks. "That pedophile is going to the slammer, where he'll serve his time." Three drinks. I went through 8 beers in 45 minutes.

Awesome. I'll have to tune in!

We scribbled up some pretty good rules, and I believe demonic possession was 5 shots. If memory serves, we watched an episode about a prison in Idaho. I want to say Aaron was made to hang out in the showers where some dude was killed. Poor bastige was losing his mind.

I'd like to see them go to Waverly Hills, if they haven't already. My dad grew up in Somerset (I was born in Frankfort) and we went there with my uncle on a tour. It was pretty creepy, but I wouldn't stay the night there, as it's hella old and giant holes in the floor are not conducive to fun.

If I met my untimely demise sooner rather than later, I'd haunt those three. Hide Zack's hair gel and Affliction shirts, say I'm a demon, rattle some chains, etc. I'd be fun.

EngineerAtWork: I think the article said everything when they introduced him as an actor. These "real" ghost stories and "investigations" are nothing more poorly done dinner theater.

If I recall correctly, the show was categorized as a "unscripted soap". So they'd throw in occassional interpersonal "drama" to stay in the soap category.

I watched season 1 and 2 in a marathon with my sister. She was such a die hard fan, she's taken vacations to visit some of the locations they investigated. I found the show entertaining, though I was more intrigued as to why they'd decide to decalre some locations as haunted and others as not. You know the owners of those businesses were hoping to use teh show to drum up business. Did they not pay an extra fee to the producers or something?

I suspect the show started just as a major product placement for Roto-Rooter and was more popular than anyone expected.

That makes me sad, because two "albino" deer were killed up north from me. They were legally killed, because they were in a chronic wasting zone, and they were not considered albino by Wisconsin, because they did not have pink eyes, and one had a very small black dot on its butt. The locals in the area were super pissed off. They had names for them, and all the hunters in the area agreed to not kill them. Just some out of towners new about the deer, and decided to shoot them.

THIS. I love his show not because I hope they will find some Indian River Monster, but because they interact with the local people and we get to see some really out of the way locations.

A recent movie called Grave Encounters is a good watch. It's on Netflix now, and it's about a Ghost Hunters-style crew that go to an old asylum

It is a good watch. Much better than I expected it to be.

I confess I watch ghost hunter-type shows for comedy value when there's nothing else on. Those "Ghost Lab" hillbillies are particularly amusing. Like when they go into a "haunted" room and one of them yells something like "Come on out, you ghost pussy and face me like a man!!!" and then they go "oh, did you hear that?!?!" and almost crap their pants.

But, yeah, Ghost Hunters was must-see for my wife and I, but we lost interest after a few seasons. A whole lot of nuthin most of the time, and the payoffs got less and less interesting.

Same here. We watched religiously for the first two or three years, then exactly like you said. They started never finding anything interesting. Which made me wonder if some of the stuff in the first few seasons were staged, because everything after that has been lame as hell. We quit watching totally.

I'd watch again if they had anything worth seeing. And I think Kris is yummy.

That's my experience. It got to the point that I would watch just to ogle Kris. Then I started following her on Twitter. Let's just say that it's entirely conceivable that she's a Freeper. Now I can't look at her without thinking that all that hotness is wasted on a farking willfully ignorant idiot.
