You're in college? Find a female. Get her to wear something skimpy. Give her a review 'script'.

Works for a bajillion 'gamer girls' who do terrible game reviews, you should be just fine if you incorporate that into your marketing plan.

Has anyone said "LAME!" yet?

What were you thinking? No, I don't want to know.

Dude, watch an infomercial or two. Learn how to sell a sucky, blowy product.

That is all.

I'm curious, submitter-dude---what are the tags you used on your Y/Tube? I mean, other than "vacuum" and whatever? Seriously, adding something like "Paris Hilton" [well, she's out of the limelight now so use some other celebrity name, but you get my drift I'm sure*] or "Brad Pitt" and "nude" will likely drive up your count. Not joking---I mean, if this is just a class project there's no harm in putting in as many searchable tags as possible. "Vacuum sex" is not out of the question.

Trust me when I say the other folks in your class who are really studying marketing are already doing this sort of thing.

* Yeah, I"m showing my age. So get offa my lawn already!

AngryTeacher: Tell your teacher this is the dumbest way to grade in history. Think about it, your grade is based on how many people you can con into watching this. It has nothing to do with quality.

See that greasy kid in the back with no friends? He is going to get an A because he has nothing better to do than click "play" all night long.

Actually, it's not.

In marketing speak, every time an eyeball looks at your ad or product or gimmick or whatever, the first part of the job is done.

So "How many people can you direct to a YouTube video" is, on a basic level, a good marketing lesson.

Wow, vertical video? You literally did phone it in.

I don't usually like to say negative things, but NO! This is precisely what the world needs less of.

You couldn't study engineering? Software development? Things that are actually important?

I want my click back, you suck like a shop vac! I'm sorry I helped you get a better grade when you deserve a negative grade for sucking at attempting at making an effort.

No - and I hope your professor loses his tenure

The other ones were not as funny? WTH? I never cracked a frown even.

I am buying one of those. I have a shop vac, but I can't get it to blow.

That and I have a $32 credit at Home Depot

I hope you lose points when people close the window before it's half over, because you are a bad person and you should feel bad,

untillater: so to start off, Thank you all for clicking and the feedback.

Just to let you all know a few things about it.

The assignment was pretty vague, create a "viral" video review, less than 1 minute in length. The only other parameter was "it doesn't suck".

Given the "it doesn't suck" requirement I thought a vacuum that very much sucks was the way to go.

I am a Computer Science major with an emphasis in Information Security. Marketing has nothing to do with my major, it just happened to be an elective I could squeeze in to an open time slot.

@ LesserEvil, that vid was great. I will keep it in mind if hell freezes over and I have to make another one. Thanks

Well, then. Good job for a computer dude. I'll go click again from a different computer.

It's hard to market something as boring as a vacuum cleaner. +1 for asking THIS crowd to contribute, though.

Ok I watched about 15 seconds of it. Does that count as a click or do I have to watch all the way until you get your penis stuck in it?

MelGoesOnTour: So your grade will be based on how many false views you can generate?

Sounds like someone is getting ready for a job in broadcast tv.

I watched it. Admittedly it was just because "rigid" and "blow" were in the title.
