EVERYBODY PANIC: Oh, one more thing... It is possible that most of the left-leaning posts appear absolutely insane to the right-leaning farkers. Does that make half the posts to be trolling? It all seems silly to me.

Can you provide an example?

What might appear 'absolutely insane' to some other individuals could be anything from "All religious people should be round up and shot" to "Single-Payer health care would be a good idea." But the intention of trolling is to provoke responses from as many people as possible, and neither of my examples (rather unfortunately, in the one case) deviates enough from the local mainstream to stir up any particular volume of shiat.

Another problem is that the American left doesn't currently have much in the way of militant extremists, so any real Trolling is less likely to pass as sincere. Any Farkers trying to pass themselves off as such are far more likely to be Conservatives attempting satire, which, historically speaking, never goes well.

I live in Casper, born and raised. My husband works at Casper College. Last night I played bunco with a bunch of people who work for the City, including a bailiff.

Scuttlebutt is that the assailant had a bow (possibly a crossbow) and a knife. He attempted to shoot the teacher then stabbed him in the throat with a knife then stabbed himself in the throat with the knife.

Word is that the woman was also shot with an arrow and stabbed.

EVERYBODY PANIC: Just Another OC Homeless Guy: redmid17: EVERYBODY PANIC: Butthurted: tenpoundsofcheese: The Constitution says nothing about allowing people to have sharp edged objects.

Time to ban them to make the liberals happy.

I live with my mom too obvious and there are already a few trolls in before you.

Pardon me a moment, but would you please define the word "troll" which I see so often on Fark threads. As I understand it, it's just another word used to demean somebody with whom one does not agree on a topic. It seems poorly used in most apoplications, and in too many uses, indicates an inability of the user to articulate a reasoned response. But maye I just don't get it.

So please concoct a definition, I mean a real definition for the word "troll". Please give me an example of it's useage by someonw who shares your own opinion on a topic, indicating that it is a workable definition and not just juvenile slander.Thank you.

If you have to ask, you're probably not smart enough to understand any of the definitions in the first place.

I think he understands perfectly. It was a rhetorical question.

See what happens when one asks for clarification? Folks on the right often give it a good shot, but folks on the left often try to belittle the intelligent question to avoid showing an intellectual inability to make coherent statements. Sad. I have no political affiliations, but I see the dichotomy. Slang is for people who emote rather than think, at least as far as I can determine. People who know something, say something. Most everybody else just attack, demean, belittle. The real zombies defer to cliches, slogans and slang. Oh well. It is fark, not Harvard, I guess. Gotta lower my expectations.

I'm not "on the left." I just hate stupid questions.
