I have loved snakes since before I knew how neat girls were. I've owned more than a dozen species, handled more than that, almost been killed by one pet (don't wrap a 7-foot black rat snake around your neck if you're alone), have run all around a number of states looking for 'em. Coolest animals ever.

Cool story bro time:

When my daughter was about 8, we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom. Way at the back, you can take a train to this part that has a petting zoo, and a working laboratory, and other cool stuff, including biologists who do occasional shows featuring some of their animals. One of them came out, got a crowd of a hundred people or so, and pulled out a big wooden box. He asked for a volunteer, and picked the 8 year old girl with the flowered dress and frizzy hair (I would assume because she fit the stereotype he was looking for). He warmed the crowd up with the old "OK, I'm gonna open the box and let you see what's inside, are you ready? She nodded. He opened the top of the box, she looked in and without a second's hesitation grabbed the five foot bull snake out and draped it over her shoulders.
The show fell apart. The guy's patter was absolutely based on a shriek and a run back to Mommy. He literally couldn't continue he was so completely flustered by what she had done.
I had never been prouder of her.

"But after a while you understand that nothing happens if you respect the snake"

Yeah, right, there's a bear-guy who became dinner thinking the same type of thing. They are wild animals, idiot.

I love snakes, especially the larger kinds. Boas, pythons, anacondas, beautiful animals, and very sensual. I admit I have a fetish for being in the coils of a big snake, feels dangerous and hot.

/have a 17-foot Burmese python, has an entire bedroom to himself, when I let him roam 90% of the time he seeks me out and wraps around me and can stay that way for hours
//he's not picky, he'll coil anyone who's willing

Spiders, scorpions, and cockroaches....I hate them. They are nightmare fuel. Snakes eat them and I'm okay with that. Vive le serpent!

It's easy to survive an encounter with an anaconda. You simply need to lack buns.
