Ann Arbor is a whore.

Don't know about alcohol intoxication. That is one of the trademark hallucinations associated with Datura intoxication though.

Drunk hospital patient is lucky there wasn't any real oxygen near by.

He should have used an imaginary match.

Personally, I'm outraged! How many more hospital fires is it going to take before our politicians stand up to big Imaginary Tobacco and start banning imaginary cigarettes? How many have to die for the imaginary profits, before they do something? Not. One. More! Call your representative and demand that they do something about this imaginary problem - or it could be you, next!

/Pretty sure I got black lung from imaginary second hand smoke
//Less "black lung" than "slightly less pink than expected" lung, but it still keeps me up at night
///I've been told that imaginary cigars are safer, though ...

I did something similar while horribly hung over. Dropped a freshly lit match in my coffee and touched a sugar packet to my cigarette.

CSB time:

I volunteered at a hospital when I was 12. The lung cancer patients had their own smoking area (this is a long time ago, I am old) where they would lift the oxygen masks off their mouths to take drags from their cigarettes.

Always tried to avoid that room for many reasons...

I spent time in a hospital in the UK, on a ward with 6 other patients. There was a guy who had been severely beaten and had brain damage. He wasn't allowed to have anything by mouth so he'd walk around the room, dragging his catheter bag, and try to drink the water out of other patients flower vases. Then he rolled up a Kleenex and tried to smoke it. Since I was the only one on the ward who was semi-coherent, I was the one who ended up buzzing the nurses to help the guy. Of course, it always took to 10+ for them to respond. He finally tried to climb out the 5th floor window. Since I was in traction, I couldn't stop him. The nurses finally showed up after I started screaming for help. The kept him in restraints from then on.

It was the only entertainment I had in my 6 week stay there.

Worked with a company that does training videos for hospitals. The "fire" one was pretty gruesome...
