Wasilla Hillbilly: poughdrew: and, to think I turned this game off at halftime.. to watch Hawaii Five-Oh.

I switched it off as soon as it was 24-0, but I told Mrs. Hillbilly that the Broncos have a habit of making these things interesting so I better check back later. Check back and it's 24-14, sat back and enjoyed the magic.

I was going to sleep at halftime, but got up to turn off some lights, brush my teeth, etc, and the 2nd half had already started... that first drive was beautiful... so I kept watching a little... and then the show began.

/I got to watch Rivers go Delhomme live :D

kteela: Tickle Mittens: Di Atribe: eddievercetti: UNAUTHORIZED FINGER: Yeah. Redskins too, because that's my brother's team. I promised DiAtribe a couple of years ago that I'd let go my Cowboy Hate for Super Bowl XII, and ONLY because she's so awesome (gorgeous too), I have forgiven them (a little).

Of course, if Di owned the Cowboys I would hate them even less.

/Saw Rivers interview, he's lost, is he?

If I owned the Cowboys, I'd hire a GM so I could just be drunk in the owner's suite all the time.

Also, I'd change the sign on the door to "OWNER'S SWEET" because I'd be the boss of everything and I said so. And then you guys can come over and play MarioKart on the big screen.

Wow. I would actually have to stop being contemptful of the Cowboys. Don't take that joy away from me.

There is as much joy in your own team making Tony Romo cry like a leetle girl as there is in any of life's pleasures.

I was at the game when he was sitting on his ass, crying in front of the North Endzone of then-Qwest field, in the playoffs. Sure, my rational mind knows it was more Witten's fault than Romo's, and Kelly Jennings would have probably blocked the kick anyway. But an ebullient light rose up within me as I watched this dazed and broken man grapple with the confusion of how it came to be that his dreams slipped through his fingers and all his year's labors were undone in a moment he already struggled to remember. And that light's ember still warms me to this day. No one should have to give that up. No man once blessed by it's glow could.

I think we could see another performance like this before the season is over. Much like all those perfect games in baseball last season or whenever it was. Rivers still has a lot of games left, and we still have a guy by the name of Michael Vick. Romo came pretty close already. Any Arizona QB could do it. Sanchez isn't done yet. And I don't think we have seen the worst of some of these rookies.

What a time to be alive.

That's Norvball. It also involves wasting time outs, running the clock in the last two minutes while attempting a comeback, and not keeping track of which RB is in on which play.

Week 6 weird stuff & stats:

I found a cool new toy last night, leading to the first few entries.

-The AFC East currently features a 4-way tie for first place with all teams holding 3-3 records. This is the first time that has happened since the divisions were realigned in 2002, and only the second time it has ever occurred.
-The only other time? 1987, also in the AFC East (Bills, Colts, Patriots, and Jets all were 3-3, Dolphins were 2-4).
-The Cleveland Browns became the last team to notch a win on Sunday, marking the first time since 1990 that every NFL team got into the win column by Week 6. To put that into a bit more perspective, in 1990 there were only 28 teams in the league, Houston still had the Oilers, and Los Angeles had two teams.
-Yesterday's game between the Rams and Dolphins was interesting in a couple of ways. First, the Dolphins winning allowed the aforementioned 4-way tie atop the AFC East, but had the Rams won it would have caused a 4-way tie (at 4-2) in the NFC West.
-Second, coming into the game the Rams had allowed only 2 passing TDs all season, while Miami had scored only 2. The Dolphins managed to double both of those numbers as Ryan Tannehill threw for two more.
-The Baltimore Ravens allowed back-to-back 200+ yard rushing performances for the first time in the franchise's history, dating back to the 1996 season.
-Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons are 6-0 for the first time in their franchise history, dating all the way back to 1966.
-Perhaps not surprisingly, the top 5 passing performances so far this week (in yardage) all came in losing efforts.
-Completely surprising, however, is Andy Dalton & Christian Ponder showing up on that list.
-While his career only spans 6 games thus far, Russell Wilson did notch career highs in passing yardage, yards/attempt, touchdowns, and QB rating on Sunday.
-After 5 weeks, both Oakland's and Detroit's defenses had failed to notch a single interception. The Raiders had 3 and the Lions notched 2 in Week 6.
-With the 49ers getting blown out and Seattle surrendering 23 to the Pats, the stingiest defense (points allowed/game) in the league now belongs to the Chicago Bears.
-The Tennessee Titans held Pittsburgh to just 23 points Thursday night, marking the first time this season a team has failed to score at least 30 against them. Perhaps even more alarming, the Titans have allowed opposing quarterbacks to notch a 107.9 rating against them so far.
-On the flip side, no team has scored even 23 against Arizona to this point. In fact, only one has managed to break 20: the Miami Dolphins, who are tied for 21st in scoring.
-Thirteen players have returned a punt for 40 or more yards this season, but not against the Dallas Cowboys...who have allowed only 30 punt return yards in total on the year.
-This week's C.J. Spiller update: the Bills' running back is now averaging 7.6 yards/attempt on 60 carries. The next-highest running back with at least 40 attempts is San Fran's Kendall Hunter, averaging 5.5. Of the 24 NFL players with a higher y/a, none have run the ball more than 12 times.
-But your most explosive ball-carrier is still NFL rushing leader Jamaal Charles, with 6 runs of 20+ yards (and 3 for 40+, which also leads the league).
-5 receivers are currently averaging more than 100 yards/game, including the Colts' Reggie Wayne...who is on pace for 1898 yards this season.
-The Carolina Panthers have attempted only 2 field goals on the season, with Justin Medlock nailing both of them. The longer was from 32 yards out.
-10 kickers are still perfect on the season, led by Cleveland's Phil Dawson who is 12-12 (including 4-4 on kicks of 50+).
-Update on Buffalo return man Leodis McKelvin: of the 9 punts he's returned, he's taken 5 for 20+ yards. Only two other punt returners in the league have even 3 of 20 or more, and each of them (Josh Cribbs of Cleveland and Stefan Logan of the Lions) have at least 13 returns.
-Houston's J.J. Watt reclaimed his NFL sack lead with 9.5. That's more sacks than 7 teams have recorded.
-Meanwhile, Atlanta's Thomas DeCoud and Chicago's Tim Jennings share the lead in interceptions, with 4 apiece. That would tie them for 20th in the league rankings by team.
-The San Francisco 49ers are averaging 176.8 yards/game on the ground. This not only leads the league, it is more than 100 yards/game more than New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee have managed, and more than twice what 25th-ranked Atlanta has done.
-I hate to pile on (not really), but the Jacksonville Jaguars are still dead last in the league in scoring, averaging just 13 points/game. That's more than 4 points behind the second-worst (Philadelphia) and less than half of what 9 other teams are averaging. In terms of total points scored, the 31st-ranked team (Oakland) has tallied 22 more than Jacksonville, in the same number of games.
-A big part of that could be the fact that the Jags are also 32nd in the league in passing, averaging a paltry 142.8 yards/game. That puts them nearly 27 yards behind their closest competitor, the Seattle Seahawks, and more than 180 yards/game behind league-leader New Orleans.
-We are now down to just 3 quarterbacks maintaining a rating over 100: Aaron Rodgers, Peyton Manning, and...Robert Griffin III.
-The Philadelphia Eagles have turned the ball over 17 times. 13 of those are charged to Michael Vick.
-8 teams have maintained a turnover margin of +4 or better; all 8 have at least a .500 record. 9 teams are at -4 or worse; all 9 have a .500 record or worse.
