Well she had that coming. The bus driver though shouldn't have gotten into such a debate with her. Around here it is one warning to stop swearing/screaming/smoking. Warning #2 comes in the form of the driver covertly punching a button and within 10 minutes pulling over as two policemen board the bus.

I love the look on the faces of certain individuals when the bus pulls over right behind a police car. They suddenly shut up but is too late.

/saw some white guy hauled off the bus for screaming at all the Asians about how didn't fight in Vietnam to see a bunch of gooks come to America

I completely disagree. If you don't want me to use violence against you, don't use it against me. If you hit me, expect me to hit you back. I have never hit someone first, you can call me names, you can insult anything or everything, you can threaten me and anyone you like, but the moment you step across the line and try to physically hurt me all bets are off. I don't care if you are female, underage(With reason), elderly or crippled. You tried to hurt me, now it's my turn.

Yeah, this is one of those shiatty situations where a female can assault a male, but if the male does anything but curl up into a ball and wait for it to be over, he's a horrible monster. If he just calls the cops and waits, he's considered a wuss and he has to weather the assaults. If the roles are reversed, but size ratios are maintained, the female would still be cheered on.

Honestly though, they're both wrong, and I can't bring myself to care. That was a hell of an uppercut.

By the way, the driver has been suspended.

I'm really torn on the whole idea of striking a woman - it's just not cool. That said she did hit him first and if I am assaulted - by anyone - I will defend myself. Still, he should have kept his cool, called the police and had her arrested. If she had pulled a weapon or something, well, then it's time for a beat down of epic proportions.

Hitting a woman just doesn't sit well with me, even though she took the first swing.

The tale of the tape is against the driver. Yes, she did something to him (smack scratch etc) and then backs away. He engages her after that. This makes him an aggressor as well.

Let's make the assumption that she smacked him. It does not appear that she has a weapon. So is a roughly 220lb man sucker punching a 115 pound woman then bouncer throwing her down the stairs a reasonable reaction to a smack? He was not defending himself in the least. He was doling out punishment.

I never said that the driver's response was reasonable.

The minute she put a hand on me, she would have been physically thrown off the bus (threat neutralized). I would not not have punched her as he did, but if let's say in the act of throwing her off the bus she grabbed my balls or tried to gouge my eye out, yeah the punches to her cranium or choke hold would have been utilized.

Regardless of your views on hitting a woman there are not only two options, standing there and taking it or punching her your hardest in the face... There's probably some much more acceptable middle ground in there...
