Fissile: It's a little game urban yutes play called, "knock out". They demonstrate their manliness by knocking out someone with a single punch. From what I've seen, the victims are not exclusively white. Yes, the miserable little shiats need a few years in a real "pound them in the ass" type prison.


Yeah, but they're not black either. Asians and Mexicans are fair game, but not teh other blacks . There is a racial element to this idiotic game--let's not kid ourselves.

In case anyone thinks that black kids walking around throwing knockout punches is some sort of new thing that they invented, there were some "games" in my neighborhood when I was growing up:

1) Kids would ride in a pickup truck with brooms and hit black people as they drove past them. This was called Broom a Coon.

2) Replace the brooms with pellet guns and you have Jungle Safari.

The difference between those and this? White kids doing it were viewed as "boys will be boys" and were never arrested.

Switch the races of the perps and the victim = 24x7 news coverage, candlelight vigils, diversity and hate crime expert interviews, black history month becomes black history quarter, streets and schools named after the victim, a new federal holiday within ten years.

This is a great example of absolutely racist thinking.

Consider these two statements:

1) Most urban thugs are black.
2) Most blacks are urban thugs.

While first statement may be unfortunate, it's probably true. But, the racist turns that first statement into the second statement, which is only true in the racist's mind.

In any case, I love these threads because racists are drawn to them like a moth to a flame. It allows me to update my list of people who are complete, racist idiots.

This very thing happened to me almost two years ago.
I was walking with my brother at 2am to the closest 7/11 to grab a bag of doritos. We were cutting through a park when we walked past a group of 4 teens, no older than 17 years old. As we walked past the tallest, huskiest boy just out of nowhere cold cocked me in the face with his ham fist. I didn't go down but was dazed. The boys started laughing and walked off.
The next day I went to the police and reported it. Oh, the boys were all white, though in my town we have a bigger problem with Indian kids doing this sort of thing...

Today I am in the social work program and it's exactly how some of you have been describing how society will handle this. The social work program teaches that if you are a white male, then order to keep your level of hetro-normal, male dominant privilege, you through action or in action support the systemic racism/sexism/classism that keeps these thugs down.

Step 1 in becoming a good social worker then is to learn to apologize to the crack head, the wife beater, the street thug for taking part in their oppression and admit that we (white middle class/upper class men) are the root of their suffering and that it is up to us to unpack our privilege so that they get a bigger piece of society's pie.

fark that... I'm going to use my social work degree to get into either youth probation or parole so that I can spend my life sending punks back to prison anytime they step out of line...

All that needs to happen to that kid is a vicious ass-kicking. Make him the victim of something completely random like this and I'm sure he'd never do shiat like this again.

The Golden Rule, people...apply it.
If done properly, alot less people would act out knowing the exact thing they did would come back on them.

zinny: Let's try and understand this young man's motives. Clearly society has failed him somehow. WE are the ones who should be ashamed, not this poor, misunderstood minority youth.


Lets not forget about the paltry $940 billion plus we spend on means tested social welfare programs (federal and state combined) along with the paltry $900 billion plus we spend on education ( also federal and state combined). Clearly if we spent more billions on these program the poor child would not be the way he is.

Also there should be some sort of special consideration given to this youth to make up for the past wrongs his people have suffered to make sure he does not have to behave this way. Maybe if we gave him preferential treatment in things like enrollment in places of higher learning and employment instead fo having to rely on individual merit he would act more civilized. We could even give such a program an positive sounding name like Affirmative Action. Yup that should just about make everything OK.

This "ally" is actually a pretty popular walk-through area since it connects two main streets in downtown - Liberty Avenue and Penn Avenue as well as being next to a popular Theatre. This is right near my office building and my bus stop is diagonal from here.

What's completely insane is that:
1 - It's broad daylight
2- The video clearly shows about 5-7 bystanders
3 - The kid pops out, clocks the prof and then they just keep WALKING (they don't even consider running)
4 - The one woman walking through the alley pauses, looks at the group and then proceeds to go help the prof with others right after

This so senseless - I think folks are visibly more cautious in the area right now. I am not seeing a color here, I'm seeing a punk kid who thought he'd get away with this.

Yes, someone must have destroyed their peer group interface dynamics at a tender age which made them stray from a like of righteousness and salvation. It's not their fault, we have failed them

And the first thing they will ask the teacher is "What were you doing in that neighborhood / ally ?" Like you don't have a right to be there. These kids are common thugs with no hope of redemption.

There are some actions which tell you everything you need to know about a person. This kid should be locked up for life, no chance of parole. There's no reforming that kind of psychopathic behavior.
