HotIgneous Intruder: Nation without dignity.

It's more like a combination of overblown sense of self-entitlement and ignorance/stupidity. I was at a liquor store once and some kid was giving the cashier a hard time. She said his license looked fake and refused to ring him up. So he dialed 911. I asked what the hell he was calling the number for dire emergencies only and he looked at me dumbfounded. He said it was the only number he knew for the police.

At which point, the cashier and all of us on line went off on him. Cops showed up less than a minute later while the kid was arguing w/us, saying it wasn't for emergencies, it was quick-dial for the cops. Cops heard that part and arrested him for misuse of 911 (or whatever the official charge was). We all applauded.

If you get crappy service there are much better ways to seek justice than calling 911.

1) Call the survey line at the bottom of the list.
2) Call the franchise owner and berate his lackluster training and staff.
3) Video the encounter or next encounter and upload to YouTube and contact The Consumerist.

Now, if you live in a city like Dallas you'll need decent spanish skills to insult the staff. YMMV, don't go back to that location for at least six weeks after making the all female hispanic staff cry.

While I assume this was a non issue and the woman was retarded... if I paid for a service or good I didnt receive, and they refused to right it, I would feel justified in calling the police, as I was just the victim of theft/fraud.
