I find this interesting that someone did the posting of the link to the story of Mister Harrison of Bergeron in this thread because let me tell you something this was exactly what was to be done by me when I did the entry into the thread because this is what it is sounding as though to me and I can see two sides to this issue because I am the person who sees all issues from one side and then from the other side before being the judge of the issue. The one side of this issue makes the suggestion upon which we will say that the school food should be allowed to have the provision to the students because this is the hard working cook who does the cooking of this and the kids need to eat this. The other side of this says this is not the fair thing to the kids who go to the other schools.

The one side says that kids enjoy good food and this is the good thing because they are not like the children in the United States of the Americas who do the eating of food which satiates the diseased thyroid of them. Now you might be thinking to the self of you MEOW ARE NOT THE PEOPLE WHO DO THE EATING OF THE BAD FOOD MERELY THE LAZY INDIVIDUALS. I will say to you that you are part of the problem because you do not provide the awareness of the thyroid disease. By providing to the students the food upon which tastes good it is possible to establish who has the disease of the thyroid because this individual will eat until which time there is not the stopping of the person. For this reason this side is saying let us provide for them the food so we can do the early catching of who is suffering of the disease of the thyroid of them.

The other side of this is saying look there are others in the country which is Sweden who would prefer to not have the meatballs or the ABBA themed cereal or the Roxette Brand Chicken Nuggets or the gummy fish or the Ace of Chicken Base in the soup of them. However this is what is forced on them because these are the official foods of the country of Sweden and it is the only thing upon which is served in the schools of them. Well that and spotted dick because they get this from England.

Anyway so this is the side that is saying that if you will finally do the liberation of the Swedes from the horrible choices of the food then you should do so for all or for none such as the Swedish Three Musketeers but they used the pole axes.

So you are saying well what is the solution of this problem. Listen I am one who sees the two sides and I do not wish for saying anything that would cause the thought of you to be led by me but I think we can all do the agreement that is Sweden had the story of the Harrison Bergeron then this cook would be goosed. LAUGHTER OL!

Fissile: For those of you going off on the usual derp about socialism, consider the following:

Until recently the kiddies in UK public schools had socialism as concerns school lunches, then the schools were taken over by Bain Capital types who decided to go all Ayn Rand on their entitled, little, parasite, public school asses by privatizing school lunch programs. This is what a "free market" school lunch looked like when the English versions of the Koch brothers decided to give the kiddies a lesson in capitalism.

[ballibeg.smugmug.com image 600x450]

Well a little UK school girl started a blog called Never Seconds describing her school lunches. The blog went viral, and after threatening the little girl and her parents, the brave free market heroes of the UK school system relented and actually made improvements.

Compare and contrast this with the "Surrender Monkeys" who always had socialism when it comes to feeding school kids.

France's Gourmet School Lunches

Suck it, Randoids.

Imagine the response in the USA if this were on the lunch menu:

Fish filet with sautéed organic vegetables and organic potatoes
Dairy: Organic camembert
Dessert: Organic compote (fruit sauce)

The kids would throw half the food away and go crying to the papers that the administration was not feeding them enough.

stiletto_the_wise: Taxpayers purchase civilized society from the public.

In that case, why does civilized society cost so much more for some people then others?

One group pays a ton for civilization and receives the same poor results as the people pay very little. It's reasonable at some point to question the value they get for their money. It's also reasonable to question the disparity in amounts paid for civilized society.

If I pay $100 for a cheeseburger and get the same burger that you do for only $1, I'm going to have a real problem with that, esp. if the burger is crap. If I demand that you give me a better burger or refund some of my money so I can go somewhere else, that's not a handout nor is it unreasonable.

Dash: You always say 'Do your best', but you don't really mean it. Why can't I do the best that I can do?
Helen: Right now, honey, the world just wants us to fit in, and to fit in, we gotta be like everyone else.
Dash: But Dad always said our powers were nothing to be ashamed of, our powers made us special.
Helen: Everyone's special, Dash.
Dash: [muttering] Which is another way of saying no one is.

Just one example of the foreboding, tyrannical, nightmarish hellhole that is Sweden

And maybe you shouldn't knock Sweden until the schools in the US serve something other than sawdust and old gym mats.

but, no doubt, if this lady is staying within her budget, and meets nutritional standards (TFA doesn't say exactly how she is out of compliance), then leave her alone.
