So a guy takes a 178--day vacation, doesn't work anywhere and doesn't pay his own way, survives off bumming other people for his food money?

Doesn't sound like a hero to me, sounds like a self--centered tramp.

Godscrack: WhyteRaven74: the guy started the trip with no money.

But he still had money. Real poor people just don't get up and walk across the country as a publicity stunt.

They'd get thrown in jail so fast for vagrancy, trespassing and a list of other trivial laws targeted to keep poor people out of sight.

Forrest Gump, winner of the Congressional Medal of Honor, killed for vagrancy in Jerkwater, USA.

Came across this story the other day, read as many of his tweets as I could then read his blog. Very cool story and damn impressive he made it especially once he was going northwest out of Dallas where any sort of shelter starts getting harder to come by.

"Run Forrest run!" It's probably one of the most well know quotes from any film.

"Well know"? Really?

Can you remember the part of the film where Forrest decides to run and just keeps on running? Well this story is a bit like that apart from one thing - it actually happened.

One day Nick Kleckner decided to go for a walk.
