While td passes are one hell of a lot more common now than they were in Johnny's day the fact is no one else has done it. So hats off to drew brees - a great qb and a good person as well.

That said the curmudgeon in me says I don't understand why people obsess over these statistical oddities that are next to meaningless. I mean it's ultimately insignificant if a qb doesn't get a td pass in a game every now and again. And fact is even after the record is broken I think Unitas' feat will still be more impressive as the game was more low-scoring and run-oriented back in the day. Drew's highest pass attempts per game in a season is ~ 41 - Johnny's is 31.

Conclusion: extremely impressive feat but it's sort of an apples to oranges thing at the end of the day.

robsul82: Too bad it's not Brady or Peyton. We would've had a countdown clock on the ESPN webpage for weeks, lol.

So either he sets the record against the Chargers, or his streak gets broken by them. That seems appropriate.
