That was a silly plot point wasn't it? Android with a positronic brain, can make near infinite calculations per second and can't use contractions.

My personal favorite is he has no emotions, but he has a desire to experience emotions as if desire could possibly exist in an emotionless being.

What if the Terminator just watched ET in his hotel room before going into the police station and his onboard menu told him to say, "I'll be right here"? That would have been some epic shiat.

As he acknowledges in TFA he's not a native speaker of English and there's some subtleties that will always elude us in other languages (I wouldn't be able to do anything near that in German).
That said the point he raised is a good one and "I will be back" sounds more robot like, but Ah-nuld should have sought a second opinion from another well educated native speaker rather than just making up his own mind. But that's Mr Schwarzenegger for you.
