Yeah a task force with power over internet related matters created by congress would never go wrong and become a bloated bureaucracy that can be bribed by certain people who would like to see their wishes prevail. Perhaps well intentioned but if created it would lead to more direct control and censorship, and perhaps that's the plan, my tin foil hat says. Yeah that's right, my tin foil hat talks.

Difficulty #2 -- getting either the people or the legislatures of 38 states to vote in favor of the amendment.

you know... I basically have no respect for california beyond her natural qualities, but that's twice this century that a house representative from california has done something sensible.

/ the first time was when a lady representative from california voted against going to war in iraq/afganistan. as far as I know, she was the only person in congress (house or senate) to vote against the war. but, i don't remember her name.

There is no such thing as a simple constitutional amendment in today's political climate. We all know there's 0% chance of it even coming close. Beyond that, any regular federal law would have no power to bind Congress. A task force dedicated to advocating for less government interference in the internet isn't perfect, but it's a better and more effective solution than a non-binding law, and far more plausible than an amendment.

I'm sorry about that, and please know I am being sincere. I just went off my "medicine" for employment purposes this week and I am experiencing severe mood swings. I really jumped to conclusions and shouldn't have. To be honest, I myself was absolutely shocked to learn that so many Democrats had voted against the war, so I think I was under the same misconceptions, and I certainly had no right taking my anger out on you.
