jaylectricity: SilentStrider: I like their Cherry Wheat too.

Now you're just trolling.

But in all seriousness, that stuff tastes like medicine.

And now onto the beer porn:

Certain beer styles just taste better at different times of the year

Too many IPA haters on Fark nowadays. Sure, it's like the pop music of beer snobbery, but I still love me a good IPA. Love the flavor, love the look, love that I don't have to piss every five minutes like I did in college drinking Natty Light.

I also happen to love pale ales and stouts and wheat beers of all shapes and colors. But an IPA? Oooh yeah.

People are hop crazy with the ales these days, and there are many aspects of beer that are being overlooked. I like an IPA as much as the next guy, but there is a lot more out there than how much hops you can squeeze into a beer. Like capsaicin, there is a law of diminishing returns with hops. At a certain point, it stops making sense.

I'm a hop-head and I love a good IPA, but I'm a little burned out on the Imperial IPA trend. I don't need 10%+ ABV unless I'm drinking to forget :P

robohobo: Where does actual Jamaican Red Stripe rate on the beer snobbery scale? Not the kind generally available in the states, but real imported Red Stripe?

barely above Budweiser.

I like one every now and again, but drinking more than one in a row would turn my face inside out.

Love the Oktoberfest, but never tried pumpkin beer. Decent?

Southern Tier Pumpking....so good.

I'm fairly new to drinking beer, having been a liquor drinker since I was legal to buy. But I've found that while I like a good craft stout or a hefe, I just can't do an IPA unless I'm already drunk. My problem with beer all those years was it was just too damn bitter. And an IPA is JUST bitter.

I've had a couple from a couple different breweries, and while I love most of their other beer I just couldn't do the IPA. My brother keeps telling me "You'll get there, though," but I'm doubtful on that.

For many years, Harpoon IPA was my default beer; it's subtle and it's good.
