No Such Agency: He's very, very lucky to escape with just burns. The only other case of this I've heard of resulted in the gentleman who did it "completely destroying" his buttocks, rectum and genitals. Must have been a bigger firecracker, but any explosive force in a confined area can generate surprising amounts of carnage..

Wow. If that really is the judge's opinion, then I stand in amazement of how reasonable the Australian legal system is.

Imagine: "He's suffered enough."

No judge or prosecutor in the American system has ever had that thought. If this fellow had done the same thing in the US, they'd have charged him for illegal fireworks and anything else they could come up with.

That's the American way: Kick someone in the face as hard as you can for as long as you can once they've screwed up. Be sure to yell, "FARK YOU!!!" at them repeatedly, as well.
