It can't be worse than living next to a Burger King, with all that flame-broiled burger smoke blowing around.

yes, it could be candida too. Tonsilitis is like a pneumonia. It's a physical condition caused by something else. Whatever, it's not the sweet, sweet smell of weed.

Saruman_W: "medical marijuana" haha. That's a funny oxymoron. Ah... the excuses potheads'll come up with just to get high.

haha, I know right? The excuses those cancer patients come up with to ease their nausea so they can eat food again. I mean, get real, who needs that, am I right?

Hydrogen dioxide. Better buy gas masks for your chilluns.

Hydrogen Dioxide would be fairly dangerous, as it would not be a particularly stable molecule and would be fairly reactive.

To all you apologists for the neighbor just consider this has nothing to do with weed for a second.

Say your neighbor is almost surely violating zoning by operating a commercial grow operation of lettuce.
Because he likely has no idea wtf he is doing and reading between the lines a bit, it is a fair assumption he did a bunch of non-permitted or to code electrical work, he already started one fire. Now he can't get the electric back on because of permit problems (most likely due to non-code work that is unsafe). So that jackass gets a bunch of generators he runs all day long. Now your kids are getting sick and it smells horrible. Do you still support this guy?

There is a reason we have zoning and business regulation laws. If the guy wants to grow for personal consumption fine. Once you get to a commercial scale this doesn't belong in a house and should be regulated like any other commercial farm.

I blame the reporters, they haven't asked the right questions again. One call to city hall could of found out what permits he has or hasn't pulled and why he is failing to get his power on.

Hmmm, weed allergies?

Or perhaps the fricken generators they're running? Cheap ass generators don't have the pollution controls semi-modern cars have. I've read that they can release as much pollution as 1k properly operating 10 year old cars. And no, I'm not talking about the carbon monoxide the mother is worried about. There's also sulfur compounds, NOX, etc.. Carbon Monoxide will kill you, but it's because it displaces oxygen in the blood stream.

If they have a 'permit' to grow, why do they even need to run generators between 6 am and 9 pm? Why not grow it on a proper farm or in a proper greenhouse that gets 90% of it's light from the sun? We're talking Arizona here! You shouldn't need grow lights, just a few valves and pumps if you're doing hydroponics/automatic watering.

This is why I want the shiat *legalized*, not 'decriminalized'. Production, distribution, and sale needs to be at least as legal as tobacco and alcohol. That way you don't have people doing things like this that would be crazy uneconomical and polluting if it wasn't for the illegality increasing the price and keeping OSHA and the EPA away. Oh yeah, and it'd kill a lot of the violence due to organized crime that currently handles much of the black market, which legalizing small personal amounts wouldn't get rid of.

AbbeySomeone: Oh bullsh*t.

I dunno, man- I have a close friend who is highly allergic to cannabis, and her throat completely closes up if she's exposed to it. When I began working around the stuff a lot, we had a couple of very close epi-pen calls. Sadly, as I smell fairly constantly of marijuana now, we've stopped hanging out.

She's a cool kid and a cigarette smoker and not prone to the "sensitive nose/allergen hysteria" that goes around with your more whiny non-smoker snowflakes.

Not surprising, really. I had the same problem. My neighbor was using sarin gas and surplus agent orange on his grow. On Tuesdays he would dust them all down with plutonium dust to kill the parasites. Worked pretty well, I guess. All my hair fell out, but my doctor said it was probably the high tension power lines going through our neighborhood.

Depending on the kind of fertilisers and pesticides used in the operation, an adverse health reaction from some kind of chemical is credible.

Time to go see a different doctor.

This is why I abhor the current primary care physician system in the US. If we had a single-payer system that allowed her to choose her own doctor, she wouldn't be stuck with a dumb fark doctor who can't diagnose her sick child.

Wow. I didn't realize you could "grow" chemicals. Green thumb, indeed...

Everything living is merely chemicals, and as such, you can grow chemicals.

"I worry every day. My kids have been to the doctor's six times. Yesterday I took my 11-month old and the doctor said he's got blisters on the back of his throat and they don't know why," said Storment.

The kids have been to the doctor's office a whole bunch because of normal childhood checkups. And stop trying to blame your neighbors for your kid's defective throat.
