When REEs skyrocket in price, look at ticker symbol MCP. During the hysteria last year, it was as high as $64.

Trading in the low 20's now, but it's up 8% today.

And this is one reason that planned obsolescence is a terrible, stupid idea: at some point, the resources could run out, stranding everyone with half-assed fourth generation versions of technology, instead of the tenth gen good stuff.that would have improved life in amazing ways.

Landfill mining for discarded electronics will probably become a thing at some point.

There's still a wealth of rare earth minerals in the bottom of the sea, just like Howard Hughes claimed (although his GSF Explorer used that as a cover story while it recovered a sunken Russian sub).
