december: Lipspinach: Modern Family? The sitcom that I'm supposed to like because it's "edgy"
and somehow realistic because it has some gay guys & hot chick with huge tits?
It's no better than Blossom, really.

i tried to watch this show with the girlfriend but couldn't find the humour. maybe it's because we're not married, don't have kids, and we actually have gay friends and relatives.

the show seems like its written for old suburban white people who want something more risqé than "everybody loves raymond".

You mean the majority of people? Yeah, isn't it weird how an entertainment medium that bases its revenue on selling advertising tends to cater to the largest segments of the population? It's got to be some sort of conspiracy or something.

/You want risque? Watch "Last Man Standing".
//Positive portrayals of gun ownership and hunting haven't been seen on TV since The Beverly Hillbillies was cancelled.

KatjaMouse: verbaltoxin: I'm still grinning over the fact that somebody actually thought Modern Family is marketed as "edgy." That couldn't be farther from the truth. It's probably the most plain oatmeal sitcom since Leave It to Beaver.

I don't know. Modern Family is actually funny.

PaisleyHunter: I like Modern Family, but I do not like Sophia Vegara. Her face is always scrunched up.

Wow. Speaking as a woman who's not typically into the whole living Goddess/trophy on a pedestal archetype, I have to say: Are you gay?

MF isn't trying to be edgy - it's got both broad and subtle humor that hits the mark most of the time. It's not the best comedy of all time, but it's a solid show overall.

As for Mrs. Vegara - I'm a gay dude, and if you don't think she is hot, then you're gayer than I am.

No TV father will ever again be as awesome as Al Bundy was.

But the dad is still going to be fat and balding yet somehow managed to snag an impeccably gorgeous wife way out of his league, right?
