Two things:

1) I have sneaking suspicion he would have committed the murders without Gotye.

2) Kimbra is kinda hot:

FTFA "He also posted a line from Blue October's song "Hate Me,"...

Yeah, everytime I hear Blue October I want to go on a murderous rampage too. Wow, whiny ass, crybaby music leads to killin' nowadays, how times have changed.

They also blame Blue October because of "Hat Me" which they refer to as macabre. First, I know the guys from Blue October, so I am more than a little familiar with them and that particular song.

That "macabre" song is a man singing to his girlfriend that she should do whatever it takes to get him out of her life and mind because he has too many issues, and all the pain that he has caused her was way too much. If she hates him she'll be able to move on with her life. There is nothing at all macabre about it. It's about depression and a guy that has battled addiction. (The video replaces the relationship with a girlfriend with the relationship with his mother.)

And the opening recording from his mother is, in fact, the singer's real mother. It's a voice mail she left him because he was severely depressed and was on medication. The last time they talked he sounded very bad and she was worried. Obviously a mother checking on their son is "macabre".

Nothing in that song is about suicide or murder.

Now if they want macabre, they should listen to Dirt Room. That one is twisted.

The murderous teenagers of my youth would have kicked today's modern teenagers in the ass for listening to that pansy crap before killing.

Dang it, I just got that song out of my head. Now it will be there for at least another 2 days. Thanks, jerk!

Gotye? Really?

I keep waiting for the one band so benign that it forces the lawyers and media to say "Fark it. We know it wasn't the music. He/She was just insane."
