sendbillmoney: Philbigtime: sendbillmoney: Philbigtime: I'm glad this is getting some attention on Fark. The other guy arrested, Buehler, is a West Point graduate and veteran. Bet the pigs didn't see that coming when they claimed he spat in an officer's face, thereby "justifying" his rough treatment. I wonder why the APD refuses to release the video?...

So you're saying that being a graduate of West Point automatically means that one is incapable of committing a criminal offense? They're taught better, and always adhere to that teaching?

I see your Buehler and raise you a Daniel Woolverton, West Point Class of 1997 (new window)

No, but having seen reports of this incident since January, let me clarify a couple of things that I left out of my post:
1.Buehler totally looks like a skinny Asian hippie with long hair (not the typical military academy graduate look)
2.Buehler was not only 100% sober at the time of the incident, but stepped in to help a female that he did not know from being brutalized by the police.
3.Buehler was not the person who was pulled over, he merely witnessed it happen at a gas station
4.There are at least two seperate cell phone videos shot from across the street, both of which firmly corroborate Buehler's story.

But seeing as you're OBVIOUSLY pro-cop and anti-military, we shouldn't be too surprised at your conclusions, huh?

/yes I like painting people with a broad brush

You invoked his "West Point graduate and veteran" status as if they were germane. They're not. Military personnel are just as capable as anyone else of doing stupid shiat, otherwise the two military justice offices I supervised during my military service wouldn't have had anything to do.

SendBillMoney, MSgt, USAF (Retired)

Absolutely. But you know, and I know, that an individual who has graduated from one of our country's fine military academies is, in general, a person who has held themselves to much higher standards throughout their lives than the average person. A "graduate of the University of Texas" and a "graduate of Annapolis" are two very different people. Not that the Annapolis graduate is going to be a perfect human being, but they have in all likelihood undergone more rigorous and specialized education than your average person ever will. Basically, a West Point graduate is not your average hippie protester, and the cops didn't know that when they started this. In the world we live in, being West Point grad can only add to one's credibility.
