Word to your mother, Botsuraku!

Can't touch this!

Oops, wrong 80s has-been.

I don't know if "taking credit for" is quite the same
as being held out the window by his ankles until he
coughed up the money which eventually might have financed
many of those recordings.

"Police were on the scene--you know what I mean?
They passed me up, confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem, yo I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it"

I tells ya. Shakespeare is ass compared to that.

Motherfarker.. where the hell is link 70,000?? They skipped right from 69999 to 70029....
2001-11-12 01:06:22 AM
Ice didn't bang Madonna... which is sorta sad. Because I'm sure Kevin Nealon banged Madonna.
2001-11-12 01:08:44 AM
I wish I still owned a copy of Madonna's Sex book. I sold mine to an equally perverted highschool friend for $70.
2001-11-12 01:11:09 AM
I think the height of his artist achievement, as both a redording artist and actor, was surely attained with "Ninja Rap", from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 soundtrack. The ill syntactical wrath of his turtle flow, his moving performance as a befuddled, shiny pants clad club performer. A true cultural pioneer.
2001-11-12 01:16:57 AM
My friend's ex has the "Sex" book. I dunno...I looked at it briefly and didn't think it was that bad. More arty than porny (and yes I know the difference between 'art' and 'porn' is lighting.)

As for Vanilla Ice, if Snoop Dogg has no love for Death Row anymore, why the hell does he? I heard the 98 version of "Ice Ice Baby" and I actually sorta liked it. The backlash against him was unfair...but then again...he is Vanilla Ice.

Ice to Madonna: Drop that ZERO and get with the HERO!!
2001-11-12 01:20:06 AM
If you are going to tell stories, that's a good one to tell he "funded" modern hip hop! Sounds like one to tell the grandkids! Even if he was taken for $20 mill it's ok because he contributed to the success of 30 other people who have no idea who he is!
2001-11-12 01:22:17 AM
lol, i love cool as ice. i have my very own $5 copy :P
2001-11-12 01:31:59 AM
Ok he's where I make myself look like a fool...
I few months back I downloaded a few tracks from www.vanillaice.com , actually it was after fark linked to it. Anyway The song "Nothing Is Real" is actually half decent. Will never make it now because he is Vanilla Ice but it sounds similar to a number of different currently successful bands and wouldn't sound out of place on one of their records, one of their singles would be pushing it though.

The stupid thing is that it says all sorts of crap about his latest album and him not wanting it to be played on radio or do well because then it would be label a come back. Yeah I don't want to be successful in my life either... hehe

oow hehe I was going to link directly to that song but:
"Due to the overwhelming demand for the singles we have taken the files offline. If you can help provide a mirror for our singles please email hype[nospam-﹫-backwards]ecialllinav*com."

Seems he released a new album two weeks ago.

"Turn out the lights and I'll glow" was the best line though lol :)

2001-11-12 02:45:27 AM
yeah, I was wondering how the hell he got ChuckD to appear on the album.
2001-11-12 02:53:54 AM
Well I'm getting hard what about you.
2001-11-12 03:03:36 AM
Aw hell, is that little freakshow still alive? I heard he passed out and drowned in a Motel 6 toilet years ago. Damn it.
2001-11-12 03:06:03 AM
Go white boy.
Go white boy.

I never really paid much attention to him in the first place (early 90's rap gave me the chills, even back then). Remind me again why people hated him so much back in the 90's. It seemed like one minute he had god-like stature, and then the next, you were supposed to burn your ears off if you heard his music.

Batmn42: If I'm not mistaken, the IDLink numbers are assigned based on when the item was added to the submission queue. So skipping from 69999 to 70029 would simply mean that this story was #70029 to hit the submission queue, and the last story was #69999. Lots of stories get rejected, and from what I hear, Drew skips around a bit when deciding what to post, especially on news vs. content.

On this same topic, is something in the works where we, the common Farkers, can peek at what's in the submission queue? That would be pretty

Eminem is his sweary son.

you know he used the phrase "you know" 12 times in that interview you know
2001-11-12 06:41:05 AM
It's short for "you know what I'm sayin?" It's a popular phrase in the illiterate community.

TheJustin, that is what I was thinking. This guy is old enough to start using grammer more gooder.

I wonder how is Surf shop in Miami is doing?
2001-11-12 08:31:31 AM
man, this guy talks like a frigging jackass
2001-11-12 08:58:36 AM
A friend of mine pointed out that Ice can reinvent
himself indefinitely with that same damn song. Note
the way he essentially does the same lyrics over a
currently trendy nu-metal buttrock track to make
"Ice Ice Baby" 98(?) version.

So whenever the next big musical trend comes up--
I dunno, jug bands with toilet papered combs and
arm farts or something--there he will be, rapping
about "All right stop, collaborate and listen/Ice
is back with a brand new invention"...and the cycle
begins anew.

"Ice took credit for today's rap artists, etc."

Once, when I worked at a corporate job, there was a four stall mens bathroom that everyone on the floor would have to use. One day someone had taken this monstrousity of a dump and left the thing in the bowl - either out of pride or cause the thing couldn't make it down your standard 4" sewer pipe. Anyway, this thing was incredible; it had a 2-3 inch girth and snaked up out of the water and back in again, creating this obscene pretzle type of shape that swirled and intertwined all without any breakage. It quickly became a bit of corporate folk-lore around the place and I, being one desparate for ANY attention I could get, took the credit for giving birth to this infamous mud shark.

I liken this article to that event.

bump, are you sure that didn't happen at my high school? Because I recall that exact thing happening there - though I believed the guy who took credit for it. A bunch of people took off out of class through most of the morning to go check the thing out, but someone finally got it to go down by the afternoon. The guy said that he tried to flush it a couple of times but it wouldn't go for him.
2001-11-12 11:03:44 AM
Sorry, Grasshopper. Even if it's true, the students far surpassed the 'master'.
2001-11-12 11:29:52 AM
Like many sophomore efforts, all further attempts to measure up - fecally speaking - failed miserably. Either the consistancy was off (too soft or too lumpy), or I would cough or sneeze and the poor thing would break amidst the birthing ceremony.

Too many times we do not value something until it is gone, and much like that masterpeice of excremenent, another has yet to grace the porcelin bowl. I proposed keeping a Polaroid in each stall in an effort to chronical these sweaty tributes to our bowels, but it never got past the purchase requisition stage. I blame budgitary constaints. In any case, it was a sienna sewer snake that none of us will ever forget. Oh sure, everytime I down a plate of cabbage I find myself hopeful, but alas, those were days when our colons were younger and less stress would allow for such smooth, uninterupted fecal flow as to create those corn speckled beauties of yesterday...

I think he was taken for a ride. poor bastard, just got caught up in the world of lights and fast money.

little inner-city kid shown the lights of the big city and got taken advantage of.

"Its like you know i didnt want dat shiat you know and all like no you know didnt want dat shiat you know".....
This guy has an 8 word vocabulary, you know?
2001-11-12 01:59:47 PM
He's not from the inner city tho. In fact, he's from small town Texas. Most of his bio was fabricated, which meant quick career death in the hip hop arena (where "keepin' it real" is paramount). Your point is valid tho--there were a couple of Svengali types who rode his success to big $
that went to them and not him.
2001-11-12 02:00:43 PM
Augie, Richardson, Texas is hardly inner-city...Robbie is a punk biatch. Of course I'm still pissed at him and his "entourage" for stealing my table at a party...

2001-11-12 02:10:32 PM

You used to be able to do it by just changing the IDLink number in the URL. You would actually see things that weren't posted. They fixed it though. Drew was thinking about a premium service where you could see everything posted, but that was scrapped.

V-ice grew up in the Dallas area, not MIAMI like he would like you to belive. I know someone who worked with him at a super market bagging groceries.
2001-11-12 02:32:19 PM
actually he still has alot of his money (millions) and lives down in florida. he hasn't succumbed to the doomed rapper motif and he races jet-skis and is ranked nationally.
