geom_00: Just a quick rule related question.

The astrophotography mode in Google Pixel Phone Cameras.  Is this breaking any rules?

From an andriod website:

"As the name suggests, the Pixel camera astrophotography mode (or just astro mode) allows you to take astrophotography shots. In other words, it lets you take shots of the night sky, including stars and other celestial objects.
The Pixel 4 combines 16 15-second exposures into a single four-minute mega-exposure (for lack of a better term), while the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3 combine four of these frames into a one-minute exposure."

Is this allowable?

Technically no if it's combining exposures. That isn't allowed in post, so wouldn't be allowed in camera. HDR works similarly, at least with respect to combining exposures, and that also isn't allowed in post or in camera unless the theme specifically allows for it. However, we are due for a Software Hootenanny theme, and stacked exposures of any type are always allowed there.

It's Tuesday night (9/29) and I'm not seeing access to contest 804 (9-30-20). Is this a glitch with changes at Fark or has the contest not been posted yet (there's no link to it from the post on Farktography, com either)?

No issue other than my own forgetfulness!

Hi all. Getting back into photography. I used to work for a pro (Don Dudenbostel, if you must know) back in the day and processed most of his B&W for commercial use. We had a color processor but it was so expensive  to run that it made more sense to out source it. I have been out of the game for so long. I know have an older camera, Nikon Coolpix L830 but at least it's a start. I just want to get back into it.

Also most of my experience was in actual film. I think it's gonna take me some time to adjust to digital.

Digital is definitely an adjustment from film!
