Perhaps he simply wanted to crush his enemies, see them driven before him, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

"Kunihiko Fujii was half-naked and carried a Japanese-style sword in his short pants when "

short pants?

He was wearing pedal-pushers...
2003-09-21 05:17:57 PM
Hasn't this happened to any of us at one time or another?
2003-09-21 05:22:51 PM
This Kunihiko chap probably came to complain about his kids grades in school.
I blame the Japanese education system!
2003-09-21 05:23:17 PM
People often mistake what's in my short pants for a sword
2003-09-21 05:28:39 PM
The saddest thing is, this has probably happened before...

16 empty beer cans on the floor

1 sword in hand

1/2 of your clothes on

WTF is wrong with japan?

I blame it on the fact that the whole country is just a group of islands. No room for the country to expand so everyone starts getting claustrophobic and start going crazy. Plus they get pretty isolated out there hundreds of miles from any other country.

That's just my theory though.

Man, that brings back the blurry memories!

Japan is already trying to expand. Didn't they build a floating airport? It's not long before their floating neighborhoods come washing up in California.
2003-09-21 06:14:01 PM
It's not a way to go through life, it's the ONLY way to go through life in Japan.
2003-09-21 06:17:07 PM
Was I half-naked and drunk or half-drunk and naked? It all blurs together.

short pants = underwear

I think. It's been a while since high school Japanese...
2003-09-21 06:31:15 PM
samanmax, I believe that short pants and underwear can be translated as the same thing. As far as I know, the kanji is the same, atleast.

short pants = underwear

I think. It's been a while since high school Japanese...

You learned English terms in Japanese?
2003-09-21 06:38:16 PM
At one point we were learning the names of clothing, and I remembered "pantsu" are underwear, not pants. So I assumed from the Mainichi link that short pants = pants. Pants (long legged ones) in Japanese are "zubon"
