MI6 hacked a CIA run website?

I thought the Brits were suppose to be out allies!

This is why I like British spooks: they have a sence of humor. The CIA, not so much.

Brilliant!

Ha! That's funny, I had just read about the screwed-up launch of "Inspire" magazine a few days ago. Clearly MI6's strategy backfired a bit, apparently reporters who tried to download the .pdf and got a "file corrupted" error thought they were being hacked by an evil Al-Qaeda virus and wrote hysterical articles about the dangers of terrorist malware. The hack delayed publication by less than week, anyway.

Why did I read that as "Milf hacks into al-Qaeda online magazine"?

Well, there's links to it here (new window) if you want. I've read some of it, Inspire is, for lack of a better word, uninspired. The guy behind it, Samir Khan, is ridiculous. No joke, when he still lived in the US he was living in his parent's basement and stopped posting on JIhadi forums for a while because his mom turned off his internet. And now he's working for an actual Al-Qaeda sub-branch. Look out, everyone, the terrorist might get some dangerous Cheetohs dust on you!

... idiots.

You swap the recipe with one that looks valid, but will end up with those who attempt to build a such a bomb to blow themselves up.

Amateurs.

Okay, so I was driving up from the valley today and heard some news bit that the pentagon was looking to get approval to treat cyber attacks from other countries of origination as "acts of war", so in this case MI6 would be declaring a war on terrorists. However, we already have declared a war on terror - we being us and our allies (not to mention the numerous baboons promised by that one ally), so is this kinda like a "we want to remind you we declared war on you thing" or is this like de-pantsing the dweeb at recess?

/sorry, have contracted shift cancer

Hundreds of al-Qaeda operatives seen dancing poorly to bad music.

2011-06-03 6:36:51 AM
Instead of putting in a virus or a worm, (as far as we know), they drop in a recipe from Martha Stewart.

Is MI-6 also running 4chan?

Are they trying to irk membership when a new leader is being decided under a power vacuum to destabilize the group, or just farking with their heads after a few pints at the pub.

Questions.

LOL. Should have used Penn & Teller's recipe for "Swedish Lemon Angels."

2011-06-03 6:40:41 AM
So why did they replace it with a recipie for "The Best Cup Cakes in America"?
Those pussies want to make it look like we did it because they're afraid?

/Man up, Brits.

It was content written by a guy whose last name is Israel, promoted on an American talk show, and planted by the Brits. That's the trifecta of FU.

Despite being a Nazi apologist, holocaust denier, and all around nut-wing conspiracy theorist, he is funny.

Since there's no guarantee they're not making this stuff in some house with innocent people living on either side I'd rather it just looked legit until it came time to explode, then maybe fizzled or something. Getting into unrealistically ideal situations, maybe made a farkload of smoke or something so everyone knew something was up. Then instead of "some bomb lab blew up" we get to read articles about the would-be bomber who was arrested after being found screaming and covered in 3rd degree burns in a public space.

If I had access to the internet when I was twelve I would have downloaded this and tried to make it.

After a while drano bombs got a little pedestrian.

So, they know this hate rag exists. They know who runs it. They must know the ISP since they were in the admin panel of the site. Yet, they will not arrest/stop this guy?

I don't get it. They can sniff out a girl on dog pick from some dude living in an ice berg, hiding behind 7 proxies, and 4 fire walls, but they can't find a terrorist when he's in plain sight?

But no evidence to support it. The guy that wrote it said he just threw a bunch of shiat together from random sources. I haven't read it in years and don't have a copy these days, but from what I remember none of the bomb instructions were particularly wrong, they just didn't include any of the prudent safety precautions that reduce your chances of an own goal.
