He's being released to go stay with his wife. I have a feeling he might have been better off in jail.

FTA The ruling didn't free Strauss-Kahn immediately. Authorities need time to review and approve the security arrangements involved in his home detention, which lawyers said would be at an apartment rented by his wife.

Sucks to be him. Guess he should have kept his johnson to himself.

I seriously doubt this came as a shock to his wife. She's pissed that he was caught though, you can be sure of that.

Funny head-line subby.

In a way, I hope this guy skips.*

It would demonstrate what wealth and power can achieve and maybe, just maybe, inspire a next generation to reach for the same heights.

* Obviously, he's a free man should he escape U.S. soil.

Poor people get bail too, and usually without armed guards and house arrest. But the fact he was trying to leave the country when they caught him should have kept him in jail.

Someone on TV said (yeah, I know but I could have read it on the internet too) that the electronic monitoring bracelets are "very hard" to remove.

Okay, but they can't be impossible to remove. How hard could it be?

What's to stop him from removing it and fleeing the country?

That said he's still innocent until proven guilty and I haven't heard of any evidence besides the word of the alleged victim.

2011-05-19 7:54:05 PM
He'll be out of the country before Monday AM. He'll be back in France within a week.

And no-one will stop him. Because if he goes to prison, he starts talking about corrupt politicians who siphoned off IMF money. You know, like American politicians taking bribes from the IMF. You know.

She's pissed he was caught in the US, it seems pretty clear the French would have probably given him a medal for raping a small child in the street.

It's not difficult to get from midtown Manhattan to Teterboro airport, where a waiting Gulfstream could fly non-stop to France. No customs, no immigration, no passport required. The electronic bracelet CAN be removed, and unless he has guards right outside the apartment, he'd have a huge head start.

Ira Einhorn was able to hide in France for 20 years.

Though I 've never paid for sex, I find this impossible to believe. On the other hand, if you think of it like being 10 minutes of a 90 minute massage, only with sex, I could believe it.

With druggie street whores I could believe it. Wait, where do you live? Wait, are you Hugh Grant?

He already did the perp walk, so he must be guilty.

I don't like the guy one bit, but the media is spurting guilty juice all over him, when he's just accused. And I find that disconcerting.

Why wouldn't he do that when he got back to France? He already has rape stink all over him. His career is already over. Even if he's acquitted, he's over. Let's not forget that this guy was plausibly going to be the next French president (polls had him ahead of Sarkozy). Now he has nothing to lose and probably a massive chip on his shoulder. A regular rapist gets better treatment than he got, because a regular rapist wouldn't be paraded in front of the media in handcuffs.

IMF BAILOUT - GAME INSTRUCTIONS

Guide IMF President Dominique Strauss-Kahn in "bailing-out" countries.

Use the arrow keys to move DSK through the Hotel / Convention Center. The game starts in a large suite. Press "G" to grab the intended country.

Press "F" to bend-over and "bail out" the country. Press "O" to attempt "oral bail-out" (half-credit only). Note the country may attempt to resist or escape.

TO WIN: Find and vigorously "bail-out" France.

BEWARE: Attempting to "bail-out" the U.S. will lead to jail and losing the game.

SPECIAL NOTE: Attempting to "bail-out" Guinea will also lead to jail. They are under protection of the U.S.

ALSO: Please do not feel guilty playing this game, the IMF has been doing this to the world for years.

If he's guilty he's definitely a scumbag, but I have to say I wonder. It's all just a little too convenient for Sarkozy, isn't it? Such a thing could happen, I guess, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if this whole thing was a setup.
