Coming Attractions: Summer 2004
Jeopardy: The Movie

Movie Teaser:

The latest action/adventure summer blockbuster, starring Alex Trebek as himself. Terrorists threaten to take over the planet, and only one man knows the right questions to ask. Will he uncover the secret terrorist plot in time to save the planet? Will his TV show's ratings drops if he's not there to host? What is "pi to the fifth power"?

I'll take terrorist ass-kicking for $1000, Alex.

Here's an exclusive sneak peak of the soundtrack!

Jeopardy Suite (2:22) 128kbsp mp3

This orchestral suite incorporates several themes from throughout the movie. The opening section is from the title track "Jeopardy: Main Theme and Fanfare". Following that is a cue from the dramatic chase scene, "Trebek's Run." Then, the heartwarming Alex's Theme "What is Love? (In the Form of a Question)". It closes with the main theme reprise.

*Yes, I orchestrated this all myself. I use a computer-based sampler with high-quality orchestral samples, and a keyboard. And yes, I have WAY too much free time...*

This is great! I was out last night playing with my jazz quartet, and I mentioned to them about this contest, and the orchestral soundtrack I made. They all thought it was hilarious, and decided they wanted to enter the contest too. So we got out on stage last night around 2:30am and started off the set with this rendition of the Jeopardy theme. The crowd picked out the tune fairly quickly, as you'll hear on this live recording. It was great!

Jeopardy - Jazz Version - 128kbsp mp3

*Note: once again, this is fictional. I don't have a jazz quartet, and this wasn't recorded live. It's all computerized, with the crowd added in later.*

I was playing around on my guitar this morning, when I decided to try the Jeopardy theme as a classical guitar piece. To my surprise, it worked out pretty well.

Jeopardy on classical guitar - 128kbsp mp3

*No, I can't play the guitar. It's just a sample inside the computer, which I played with my keyboard.*

This is Jeopardy.

Yeah awesome stuff, Steve347. You, and alex trebeck's moustache, inspired me to do this very ridiculous synth version. I originally intended to turn it into a porno song. I too had some time on my hands. (1.65mb)

Holy jeez Steve, that was pretty damn amazing.

Random comment: I think the next Fark.com innovation should be a "l33tspeak" filter...so that it replaces it with self-deprecating remarks (preferably alluding to below-average penis size).
