Dumski: I had trouble with my mac mail client a couple of years ago, so I switched to Google. Never looked back.

hoots_toot_ochaye: I used to use the Outlook Express I had on my old XP computer, but a couple of hard drive crashes losing me everything I had in there cured me of that. I use gmail as my main email, and just leave the emails in there now. I also have hotmail/outlook and yahoo email accounts, as well as the one I get with my ISP. Oh, and the Ultrafark email account.

Flab: And Thunderbird at home for the two people who still e-mail me with my ISP e-mail address.

You can use Gmail through Thunderbird and set it up as IMAP instead of POP and the messages will remain on the server...

Flab: Lotus Farking Notes, at work.

Bwahahaha

eyeoftheaxis: libranoelrose: Does no one use an email client anymore?

I had to change printed business cards a couple of times due to cable providers buying out other providers and giving me a new "yourbusiness @ supercoolnewISP .com" to use - So I bought my own domain. They give me more pop3 boxes than I could ever use, each allowing for up to one hundred aliases, and the option for web based email. I was told using a free email provider for a business is not professional enough, and no one will take you seriously. I think that has changed, if it ever was true. Now I'm paying for more storage, traffic and pop mail than I use, even with giving out email pop boxes for others to use. It is nice having my own little slice of server. However, I've never really wanted to use that domain space to Fark with, ( I use imgur ) does that make me paranoid or ? -- It's not the traffic that concerns me it's the internet crazies and/or the lawyers that represent them.

Did they not give you the option for IMAP???

Choc-Ful-A: libranoelrose: Does no one use an email client anymore?

I use all manner of methods to read my e-mail including mailx, pine, alpine, Seamonkey, Thunderbird, two Android apps (K-9 Mail and GMail), and I use GMail via the web too.  I have a number of different e-mail addresses I used to keep different sorts of communications separate too.  Some are for hobbies, some for work, etc...

The only one I don't use anymore is Exchange and I'm very happy about that.

Yeah I have about 20 email addresses across Gmail and Yahoo. I keep all the accounts in Thunderbird and it makes it soo much easier to keep track of them all.

Thunderbird is the only way to go IMHO

holy crap i haven't see  that in ages. we used it at work in the mid 90s.

i use thunderbird on this box and back up all the stuff i want to keep periodically. that includes email. i tried using the web mail through my website but it was too much trouble. and no, if i'm forwarding it somewhere why bother. YMMV

Dumski: I know you are a smart fellow.

thanks, also lazy as all hell. i'll get to that this weekend. i have a list. :)

At home I use Eudora version 7. If I remember correctly, I installed Eudora at some point in the late 1990s.

Actually...it was in December of 1998. That's the date on this picture and I'd just opened the box when it was taken.

It still works and I'm too lazy to change.

I use gmail as my prime email. Like others, tired of isp provider changes, mergers, takeovers making changes to my address. Use android apps for mobile acces to my accounts. At work, we have Lotus Notes, or as a previous supervisor always calles it Locust notes.

So...is it fun being part of a botnet? Are there block parties, potlucks, or pub crawls? Has there been gamification of that industry too? Are there gold stars handed out when a website has it's member list acquired? Do you have a mascot?

I just discovered Travis Louie - http://travislouie.com/paintings/album/72157600875105254/Paintings.ht m l

I'm trying to think of a possible theme contest based on his work.

Any interest or ideas?

hoots_toot_ochaye made this years ago. The pic was from a news story about a small plane hitting a house and included a line stating that the cats who lived there were fine. Some farkers thought it was stupid to include that fact while others of us were happy and relieved.

1968 National Geographic?
My parents had this awesome collection of NatGeo, ranging from the late 40's to 1974. I used them for school projects, and, they provided my first views of boobies in a natural, unclothed state.

Just wondering ... how much of my profile is visible to you guys?  Yesterday I referred someone to something that's in my profile, and they said that none of it was visible.

There should be three sections under the Bio section.  And a Facebook account link, Twitter account link, and Ultrafark email address should be visible to people with Totalfark.

Just thought I'd inquire here, before Farking back about it.

Nice pic. Is that an RCMP logo on the wall?

Dumski: Is that an RCMP logo on the wall

I Farked back about it.  Apparently they had hidden everything, as it turns out they considered an animated gif drawing I had at the very bottom of the page to be a bit 'iffy'.  I replaced it with the lip signature.

Yes, it is an RCMP logo, but it's not on the wall behind me.  The pic is a blown up scan of my old employee ID badge, when I worked in the Langley detachment of the RCMP back in 1979, right after I graduated high school.  The RCMP logo is stamped on the badge.  Until everyone there got to know me, I had to wear that in order to have access to the off limits to the public areas of the detachment.

It's probably the best photo that has ever been taken of me.  It was taken by the Staff Sergeant at the detachment.
