And, thusly, grampy proves that Lootie can be used well.

Hmmm. Greened, but not with the snark I wanted it with, or the inspirational picture either. Oh well.

I guess I am. Musing about how the parrot changed my submission. As to the ice? Why yes. Igloo has melted, whale blubber is curing, mukluks
are put away and I've scraped the barnacles off my kayak.
I was out in my shorts yesterday in the yard.
/just my shorts, you know those speedo types? Nanook and Panook love it.

My wife always told me those immigrants from North Dakota were all half polar bear and now I have this visual stuck in my head forever. I now know to bring Moslon and baby seals when we come over for the inevitable pickup game of hockey followed by flipping every round vowel we come across on its head.

SPAM used to amuse me, since it was novel to receive random, badly worded notes from strangers who in all likelihood were assuming fake names.  But I got jaded and it's been a long time since I did more then just flush all the garbage e-mail out of the SPAM folder every once in awhile.

But today I noticed one a subject line that made me laugh.  It proclaimed the exciting news that FINALLY "Passionate Ukrainian girls are ready to communicate with aliens !"

So I had to open the e-mail to see what when the UFO's had landed in the Ukraine and how the girls were going to talk to them.  The key seems be hidden in this sentence someplace "Women on the many letters and easy to open, that any, even the most humble can find as to correspond, lists you confident you will do it!" but I'm not bright enough to figure it out.

Nope, not in Virginia. I do get three free drinks per day though, iced tea, soda or bottled water.

Last job was free drinks, perm job I got laid off from had free fruit juice and lemonade, but went downhill after they pulled those out.  I had one job that provided free hot chocolate mix, but got rid of it in a cost saving measure.  They kept the 9 different kinds of creamer though.  I went to Sam's Club and bought a box of the same mix they had (7¢ a pack) and left it in the break room.  The guy who made the original decision to get rid of it had a hissing fit when he saw it. Mission accomplished.  I would mix hazelnut and amaretto creamers into my hot chocolate. It was like drinking a candy bar.

BHG: In one of the buildings where I work, we have to pay for everthing (but the cafeteria food's pretty good). When I go to the "other" office, coffee is free from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., but the food selections are limited. It's very difficult deciding which buiding I want to work in. Free coffee is farther from home and forces me to drive on I-595, a highway that's eternally under construction.
That sucks.
But free coffee?  It's amost worth it!

Mazel tov on the new job.

And to all you Farkers in the Boston area - take care of each other and find the bastards.

Do any of the database nerds know how often a winning entry is submitted after a thread goes live?

libranoelrose: Do any of the database nerds know how often a winning entry is submitted after a thread goes live?

The FPC used to show stats for the for who got the most votes for submittals one and two hours after contests went live, but not wins.  My first two wins were as a Liter but then I got sponsored and my life was ruined.  My guess would a post-live winner would be in the 5%-10% range.
