I'm not sure when he went from being the lineal descendant of Edward R. Murrow to being what he is now. When he started his show was very reminiscent of Murrow's See It Now with its timely criticisms and pointed-yet-professional commentary, but now it's just skewer-Republicans-or-their-families all the time. It's completely lost credibility. It's tabloid journalism, and that's too bad. Olbermann could have been a great one, now he's just another pundit.

Of course, some of you may say it never had credibility to begin with. I disagree, but to each his/her own.

'dealt irreparable harm'

Really? Anyone care to prove that? Show a foreign government livid over a released document? Anything?

The last time I read a Keith Olbermann story, he was announcing the end of his "Worst Person in the World" segment.

What was his reason for bringing it back?

Hypocrisy, so vote Republican.

I take it "(not really)" was the excuse.

I'm as liberal as they come and I can't stand Keith Olbermann. Maddow is much better at what she does than he is.

Given that you're lying, is there any point in pointing out facts?

How am I lying? Please, by all means correct me. I recall a story that he dropped the Worst Person segment. It had something to do with Jon Stewart.

My apologies. It was in passing that I had heard the story. Olbermann isn't really to my taste for TV viewing but I did watch his Worst Person clip online from time to time. It was one of his better segments. I was surprised to hear he would be canceling what was one of his most popular segments.

I didn't realize it was a "suspended" segment. I certainly wasn't attempting to lie.

Can I ask what his reasoning was for bringing it back without any further attacks from you?

And this amounts to "lying" in your book? Well now, Skippy, that right there amounts to "being a dick" in mine.

Sheesh...

I'm vaguely aware that his viewers demanded it.

I've never actually watched the show, myself, not being interested in bombast.

Hey subby you realize a lot of the released cables were never classified or have been declassified already? In other words, the State Department couldn't think of any reason why any shiat would hit any fan if the public saw them.

Jon Stewart.

No, really. First he was all, oh man Jon Stewart's right, too much vitriol and then the MSNBC crew were all "hey why you pickun on us, Johann, we not that bad" and everything went back how it was except I think he says "not really" the worst person in the world.

Dobermann is just using a "Hey, look over here" tactic. It works well on Obama-Americans.

Perhaps the 'worst person' status should have gone to whomever hired her.

Olbermann is a classless coont more interested in attacking those who disagrees politically with, their families and friends than being objective and attacking both sides when they mess up and leaving their family members and friends that are not in the world of politics out of it?

Why I never...

(and yes, that comment is also applicable to conservative pundits who make fun of, say, Chelsea Clinton and so on)

Never listened to him?

2010-11-30 06:39:26 AM
If you watch O'Reilly, at least he has on the occasional person who disagrees with him; not so with Olbermann. He believes in two types of people, liberals and people who attack liberals for not being liberal enough.

2010-11-30 06:44:40 AM
KO should know well enough to leave family members out of his tirades.

Having said that, there is still no equivalency between what he does and what the FOXtards do.

He is not the "left's Beck/Hannity/Limbaugh/etc..."

Not even farking close.

Well, Sarah wasn't mentioned at all, so I don't think the 'family members' rules would apply. More of a 'public hypocrity from a Reality TV Star' thing.

Yeah, what I need is another show where guests yell and talk over each other.

I know where to go for different opinions, I don't need to hear childish bickering. The lack of that nonsense is part of the reason I like the show.

Point taken.

I don't think his dislike for Sarah was irrelevant in the selection, but, yeah, Bristol is just another stupid farking attention whore.

Sorry, she got this all on her own.

She was the one on DWTS; she is the one trying to get notoriety on her own accord. And she is the one being stupid in this commercial.

She wouldn't have been a celebrity in the first place if her mom hadn't have whored her out, but she's now taken the ball and run with it.

Fair game.

You see how it says "Not Really" on the screen? That means that the segment is a comedy bit, and not who Olbermann really thinks are the worst people in the world. Notice how they are all kind of funny things that happened? Like the guy who overturned a truck filled with Jello pudding?

Quit it with your mock outrage at anything liberals do.

2010-11-30 07:26:29 AM
I used to watch Olbermann, but find him to be too bombastic. It's a shame because he's really not the liberal version of Beck, in the sense that he backs up claims with data. I think Rachel is outstanding, however.

And then there was the guy this week who was discovered to have been raping his daughter for thirty years, producing ten children from it (proven by DNA testing)... yet the guy who bricked himself into his own basement beat him on the list!?

What's wrong with you libtards, anyway?

Isn't it funny that subby claims that Wikileaks "dealt irreparable harm to US diplomacy", when we all know that if the Obama administration were to act against them, the right would scream "Fascist Nazi Communist! Denying Freedom of Speech!"

Same. KO = Drama Queen.

I watch WPITW and Oddball on the webcast. Sometimes if he has a headline I haven't already seen (very, very rare), I'll listen to the first part of the segment where he explains it, then stop it before the paid talking head comes on the reiterate everything Keith says for the next five minutes.

I fully support Wikileaks, if the US doesn't want to be called out on being dicks, they could just... not be dicks? Funny how that works.

I think the Wikileaks problem could be easily solved if all the diplomats sent out new cables to everyone saying, "I'm sorry I called you fat-fat-fatty."
