Tre Cool has got that beat.
2003-07-03 10:05:22 AM
One handed meat beater record at 25,000 bpm......asked not to participate. "......rocket's red glare, bombs bursting in air...." Happy 4th, practice "safe" fireworks this holiday season.
2003-07-03 10:14:21 AM
hmmmmmm, must be pretty boring living in your parents basement when all you do is try and see how fast you can drum. the xylophone, now thats a mans instrument.
2003-07-03 10:14:40 AM
It's never a good idea to post an article about beating on Fark...
2003-07-03 10:15:09 AM
Fap jokes begin in 5,4,3,,,,
2003-07-03 10:15:14 AM
yeah, like beating in face with brick!
2003-07-03 10:16:13 AM
<-- Why is SHE back?
2003-07-03 10:16:23 AM
Maybe these guys could hook up with all those guatarists from the thread the other day and start the worlds largest band.
2003-07-03 10:16:41 AM
yes, very musical. i wonder when the album is coming out.
2003-07-03 10:16:43 AM
I'm sure the LAPD could do this. Think of all the practice they've had.
2003-07-03 10:17:16 AM
W T F C.....!
2003-07-03 10:17:29 AM
the gloved one says: just beat it
2003-07-03 10:17:43 AM
Yeah I had an attemp at spelling the other day too.
2003-07-03 10:18:00 AM
Wow, a convention full of guys who won't get any after they play.

Pity the lowly yet vital drummer.
2003-07-03 10:18:07 AM
Will he be booked to play at the next Rave??
2003-07-03 10:19:07 AM
In the words of Fred Durst "bring back that beat"
2003-07-03 10:19:31 AM
thats like 19 bps... i'd like to see someone try to bang their hands 19 times in the span of a single second. my question is, do they just do straight beats or do they perform an actual varying rhythm? that would be way harder... think about 8th and 16th notes at 1100bpm...whoah
2003-07-03 10:21:29 AM
True Story: I knew this chick when I was in band in the 8th grade and she got busted with a drumstick up in her sweet spot, she claimed she was getting out a wedgie!!! For the rest of her academic life she was called "drumstick" poor girl!!
2003-07-03 10:22:44 AM
The trick to doing this is to enduce a controlled muscle spasm in your arms. This is why I have never been beaten in any videogame that requires "button jamming."

Like when blowing up the balloons in the old simpsons arcade game. No Contest.
2003-07-03 10:23:28 AM
EyeballKid, don't diss the drummer!

/lowly yet vital drummer
2003-07-03 10:23:37 AM
Serious on topic question

If a drum beat is increased in frequency sufficiently, will it cahnge pitch as the air is compressed faster and faster. Hence will you eventually get a whine rising in pitch until only dogs can hear it?
2003-07-03 10:24:44 AM
Tell that to Tommy Lee. He is such an asshole.

We made fun of girls like that in 8th grade. Now we seek them out for dates.

"This one time in band camp........."

Someone post a picture of Allison H. please.
2003-07-03 10:25:01 AM
Its probably a really tight drum roll. Drum rolls can sometimes be 12 to 16 beats per second. I'm sure pushing it to 19 or 20 would be extremely difficult indeed.

A strong contender.

If I hear someone say Lars is a good drummer I will puke on you.
2003-07-03 10:25:28 AM

That's not a dig, man, that's from experience. The sexual food chain of a band starts with the guitarist, then the lead vocalist, then the bassist, and then, if there's not a keyboardist or saxomaphone player, maybe what females are left over might settle for the drummer.
2003-07-03 10:25:33 AM
Philistine - a bit late on your countdown. :)
2003-07-03 10:25:45 AM

ahem, real drummer:

Forgive my ignorance but.......who 'dat?
2003-07-03 10:27:35 AM
Would this be considered a beat-off?

It should be sponsored by Fark's boobies links
2003-07-03 10:27:40 AM
You know... that Lars Ulrich is a pretty good drummer.

/sorry :)
2003-07-03 10:27:47 AM
What do you do when a drummer knocks on your door?

Pay him for the pizza.
2003-07-03 10:27:57 AM

the late, great buddy rich.

Neil Pert. Neil Pert. Neil Pert.

EyeballKid, ever actually hung out with bands? Drummers catch madd stray, and dont have to study theory. Actually these days it seems to me they get more than any one but the front man. Chick: "Can sit in your lap while you teach me to play the drums"
2003-07-03 10:28:54 AM
EyeballKid, actually in my experience, the hierarchy of musicians goes singer>guitar>drummer>bassist>keyboard.

Bass players get/deserve no respect.

Hey Ugly! Did you ever hear that backstage rant of Buddy's that one of his band members taped? If I could find it on the net I'd give you a link, but it was some funny shiat.
2003-07-03 10:30:12 AM
slapmesack:Maybe these guys could hook up with all those guatarists from the thread the other day and start the worlds largest band.

It's not a band until they get a bass player. I will not argue about this.

Nice props to Buddy Rich, Uglycicles
2003-07-03 10:30:56 AM
someone should tell the drummer of hella about this
2003-07-03 10:31:36 AM
moristhecat, please, Danny Carey is Neil Pert's daddy.
2003-07-03 10:31:43 AM
Nabb1: Not a band with out a bass? What about Jon Spencer, Judah Bauer, and his sister/ex-wife Russell Simmins? Give some respect to the Blues Explosion, man!!

Neil Peart, Best Rock Drummer EVER!
2003-07-03 10:33:11 AM
Peart. P-e-a-r-t. Peart.

Craptastic: I've heard that rant; it's funny as hell
2003-07-03 10:33:49 AM
"Judges will use a "drumometer" -- a digital display box that counts the number of drum beats made each minute."

Wouldn't that be a 'beat counter' ?

Anyways, it's nice to see you Merkins acknowledge music above 150bpm for once.
