Hey France... June 6, 1944 you're welcome.
2003-07-01 11:50:26 AM
And here I thought only Americans were that childish...
2003-07-01 12:23:10 PM
Ooohh...Those French better watch out or America's going to remove them from the "face of the planet" memorial. Oooohh...snaps.

Well, they'll be sorry when Germany once again attempts to take them over and we do nothing to help this time.

Germany already houses the EU Cental Bank so they're half way to owning all of the Continent.

2003-07-01 12:28:00 PM
Yeah, because the way American politicians and citizenry have reacted to an ally disagreeing with the U.S. was so much more polite and civilized.

lbadge, I just got a message from France:

"Hey U.S. -- Spring of 1782, you're welcome"
2003-07-01 12:31:54 PM
seriously, can you blame them? we tried to coerce them into a war, then made fun of them for not joining us.

/looking for weapons of mass destruction

Thats okay.
The next time they are invaded we'll just wait till after they are all assimilated before coming back and establishing a colony.

Maybe the locality is just responding to the childish behavior of the United States. I love how the "Fox News crowd" thinks France owes the United States for WW II. Being grateful and respectful has nothing to do with supporting a war that your ideals cannot commit to, it would be "unamerican" for France to go ahead a join the US in a war it didn't approve of..

The best part about it this story is this is obviously a move by some local idiot or even an act of vandalism, but to most morons this would appear to be an act of war by France the country. Since when is a locality representative of an entire country, imagine is a European went to some redneck county in Alabama and used that experience to represent the entire nation.

Blackneto, you comment made me imagine the French being attacked by the Borg. Sorry, I did not sleep much last night.
2003-07-01 12:54:49 PM
Regardless of the current problems between the two countries it is incredibly disrespectful to the memory, and the friends and family of the Americans that gave their lives for Frances' freedom.

I hope that enough other people world wide feel the same way.
2003-07-01 01:15:56 PM
stop whining about all we have done for the French. If not for them we would not have won our independence...so shut your pie holes.
2003-07-01 01:16:39 PM
Let's all hug and sing songs instead.
2003-07-01 01:19:17 PM
What a bunch of fvcking douchebags, see if we ever bale them out again!
2003-07-01 01:19:40 PM
Having travelled in France as a Canadian, I saw first hand how an American was treated versus a Canadian.

Exact same mistake filling out our Euro Passes and I got a warning, the American got a $100.00US fine.

I get offered complimentary tea and coffee, the Americans get treated like crap.

I'm sorry, but the French started this shiat long time ago, its just that the general American population is becoming aware of what royal assholes the French are, before, it was just an experience for those that travelled.
2003-07-01 01:19:54 PM
Does anyone know where we buried the brave french soldiers who died helping us win our independence? Oh, good point - there weren't any. They sat out on their ships, eating cheese and deficating in the Chesapeake Bay. 220+ years later they still blab on about how they helped us and we just returned the favor (time and time again).

*rolls eyes up into head*
Kum by yah my lord
kum by yah
kum by yah my lord

oh Cola Kum by yah.....
2003-07-01 01:20:51 PM

I'm with you. Let's start with kum-by-ya.
2003-07-01 01:21:25 PM
It's the Swedes we really have to watch out for.
2003-07-01 01:21:36 PM
Hmm... this can't be good.

I'm going to write to the Dead Kennedys to change the song from, "Kill, kill, kill the poor," to "Kill, kill, kill the French."

2003-07-01 01:21:39 PM
Yes, finally a good flamewar. Time to get my butane lighter and flame-resistant suit.
2003-07-01 01:21:44 PM
We saved France with blood . They helped us with political power, in a move more or less just to screw with England.
2003-07-01 01:22:19 PM
I'll call a group of people asshats, but not mention who I am talking about.

oh fine it's dumbasses who still masturbate to the thought of US power
2003-07-01 01:22:21 PM
Bolax, that is how it should be.
2003-07-01 01:22:23 PM
I seem to remember this happening here in the US when France opposed the war in Iraq. Some idiots in Austin defaced the Eiffel tower model at Dreyfuss antiques at 19th and Lamar.
Like someone else pointed out, its probably a bunch of vandals.
2003-07-01 01:22:30 PM
Seems that your piehole is the one filled with crap. Its a crap pie, in your mouth. F da french, word.
2003-07-01 01:23:49 PM
the pettiness of freedom fries has given way to the pettiness of removing american flags from, of all things, a war memorial. i kinda feel like instead of studying political science in school, im going to be studying playground rules and violations, set by kindergarteners
2003-07-01 01:24:16 PM
Granted they have the right to protest the current administation and its policies...but to dishonor the memories of our soldiers who gave up their lives on D-Day is unfarkingbelievable. That was a different war, and one that needed to be fought.

Fark you France.

/still about as Leftist as you can get
2003-07-01 01:24:49 PM
So Rochambeau and Lafayette and all those other troops they sent over here were just figments of George Washington's imagination?

/looking for free history books for farkers

Holy crap.. a voice of reason? On fark? No way!

Thats it... send a message to the SSBNs, we have a new target.
2003-07-01 01:25:38 PM
I think this calls for the short-sheeting of some French beds. Or maybe we should call up Domino's and have 100 anchovy pizzas delivered to Jacques Chirac.

Seriously, I've never seen two full grown countries act like such children. France, America, go to your rooms and don't come up until you've thought about what you've done!
2003-07-01 01:25:41 PM
So long as they remember who owns the oil now....US...*ahem* I mean...THE IRAQIS!
2003-07-01 01:25:55 PM
yeah...and French women don't shave their pits...

/got nuthin'
2003-07-01 01:27:05 PM
Nomames, why don't you go read your history. If you like to whine about how we saved the French then you should not there would be no USA without the incredible help of the French during the war for independence. Go ahead and dislike an entire country for other stupid reasons but stop whining about WW2. We owed them.
2003-07-01 01:27:06 PM
How are we having this flame war on Canada Day anyway?
2003-07-01 01:27:09 PM
What goes around comes around I guess.
2003-07-01 01:27:22 PM

As the Ambassador for Walker County Alabama, I gladly accept your offer.
2003-07-01 01:27:24 PM
Its nice to see France is as stupid we are. Think they eat "Freedom Cheese" instead of American Cheese?? This is the stupidest shiat ever. France didn't back us. BFD!!!
2003-07-01 01:27:34 PM
hold on..let me get this straight.
There were americans at d-day?
2003-07-01 01:27:35 PM
cul de clown....hilarious!
2003-07-01 01:27:50 PM
You know, I was in FL as a youngster, and met a young group of French ladies on the beach. Every one of them had buckwheat in a headlock, just wrong man. Good lookin, but if you got a fro peakin out from your pit, hit the road. Or get a damn razor.
2003-07-01 01:27:51 PM
i dunno, maybe i'm wrong...but after all the anti french sentiment around here (freedom fries, liberty ticklers, boycotting french wines and restaraunts), i can't say i blame them for not wanting to have US monuments in their country.
2003-07-01 01:28:40 PM
we should get them back and destroy that stupid green statue they gave us. That'd teach them.
2003-07-01 01:28:41 PM
so who liberated the french?

why, we did!
France was never invaded! we beat them back at the gates. Those germans surrendered!
The germans were committing suicide at the borders of France.
We liberated all of Europe

Why do you look so much like comical Ali?

mind your own business!
2003-07-01 01:29:05 PM

WWI was payback for their assistance during the revolution...WWII put up up by 1.

Marshall plan pretty much sealed the deal.

They owe us, big.
2003-07-01 01:29:08 PM
I've met lots of French (French and French Canadian). I have disliked 98% of them.
