Sybarite: Please don't let the invisible fire burn my friend!
ne2d: Don't they teach "stop, drop, and roll" in race car driver school?
RockIsDead: Ummm...yeah, happy birthday subby.Wait till you see all the stuff you'll learn at TWO!
HellRaisingHoosier: ne2d: Don't they teach "stop, drop, and roll" in race car driver school?Does that work with the rocket-fuel they probably use in race cars?
davideggy: HellRaisingHoosier: ne2d: Don't they teach "stop, drop, and roll" in race car driver school?Does that work with the rocket-fuel they probably use in race cars?Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't rolling help deprive the fire of oxygen? That should work on most if not all fires as far as I know. At the very least it's a better way to say "Hey! I"m on fire!"
No_One_Special: The narrator wasn't clear- is it possible to see these flames?
INeedAName: Tornado + Fire + Methanol = Invisible Fire Tornado
pudding7: No_One_Special: The narrator wasn't clear- is it possible to see these flames?LOL. No shiat.I'm confused, and the narrator wasn't really helpful. Where the flames visible, and could anyone see the fire?
Life_is_a_carnivore: There IS a protocol if you're burning from an invisible (alcohol) in racing. The guys that were slapping their hands on their chests were signaling they were on fire.Sometimes panic DOES set in however./Former track marshall
Rock_Strongo: Ok. I'll be the arsehole. Was that legit or not?
Daobaz: I thought this was a Monty Python sketch at first.
toyotaboy: I don't know if they still use alcohol in indy, but they certainly still use alcohol based nitro in drag racing. That stuff really is dangerous.
Life_is_a_carnivore: Like I said, 'Panic does set in'.Standing as calm as possible (!!) patting your chest and rotating in a circle is the protocol for alcohol fire.Rolling on the ground MAY interfere with the rescuers view of you.
dougfm: I still think it was bees.
