For something that costs a brazillian dollars, you'd think they'd invest in some seats that had at least a little lumbar support...

you would think it would have a better looking interior.
shiaty seats, indoor/outdoor carpet, and the laptop in the back
looks like something out of 1997.

those guys sit there for hours at least give em something good.

How do you activate the laser cannon?

Do you think the pilot in the left seat needs to be left handed? I'd have a hell of a time working that joystick with my left

It has an escape rope. That's pretty farking fancy.

Butterpump: Do you think the pilot in the left seat needs to be left handed? I'd have a hell of a time working that joystick with my left

I thought that'd be an issue in light aircraft, too, as you generally fly the yoke with your left hand and throttle right (as you would with the stick in any Airbus). It took about one flight to get used to it. It actually took far more flights to get used to when I switched to the right seat and had to fly right-handed, throttle left. Interesting first few landings.

And the stupid VR picture doesn't have the correct control orientation.

Pull back- houses get smaller. Push forward, houses get bigger.

You'd think they'd make it work right on an airliner.

Like a couple of people before, I gotta say, I love the cupholders. That's the human touch, right there, that no matter what, no matter how insanely advanced our tech will get, we will always have cupholders.

Fellow airplane nerds: what is that thing that appears to be stowed under the primary flight displays? It looks like maybe it could be another LCD?

Also, what are those handles for underneath that?

(maybe it's an entirely different kind of flying all together)

Holy crap! Look at all the legroom they get...

mr_a: I love the cupholders.

I was wondering why the two jump seats on the side with the laptop computer have 5 cup holders, but the one on the other side of the door doesn't even have one.

Probably.

I would guess it's to pull out the tray it's resting on.

/Also, Mr. Vidal. Please DIAF. No one resizes my Firefox window. No one.

Interesting view in the bottom center CRT -- looks like a view from the tail showing the fuselage and all four engines. William Shatner should love this plane...

So why is there only a pilot side HUD? Doesn't the copilot rate the same easily accessible information? What if the pilot had the fish and can't be moved from his seat?

oh those are just the ejection seat handles. haha

It's a keyboard (no kidding) for entering data into the aircraft computer. Here's a gigantic image of what they look like unstowed: Big honking A380 cockpit image (new window). Not sure what handles you're talking about, either part of the keyboard mechanism, or below the console is a handle to adjust the rudder pedal position.

I dont mean to threadjack but I know there are smart fellow farkers out there? What kind of program is it that allows a picture to be viewed in that 360 kinda way? Im looking for the ability to do this with a static object so you can spin and flip it around. What kind of google search should I do. Sorry for the interuption......now back to your regularly scheduled topic.

There's BOTH a shiat and a cum stain on the seat? WTF?

2010-08-10 10:34:37 AM
It's the little room in the front of the plane where the pilots sit, but that's not important right now.

The pilot has a German father and a French mother.

What are the handles under the side windows?

Do the windows open as emergency exits?
