When I was a cop, we used to call the kids of farked-up parents, "Job Security." Poking fun at it was the only thing you could do to keep sane.

Subby, your headline submission is smart: Obvious is what this story screams. You get raised by abusers, you end up with your inter-personal decision making warped. Some victims become abusers, some become crooks, some become shrinks to cope with their own problems, while many others end up just drawing other abusers into their lives.

Sad stuff.

Why don't you get the cops camera and shine it up your pussy and film the little criminal coming out.

sense... you don't make it. Should the police not have shown up when the grandpa attacked the grandma with a gun?

I too am often conflicted on this. I'm all about individual rights, but when your actions eff it up for the rest of us, it may not be the worst idea ever.

it'll be a cold day in hell when a domestic dispute is the actual cause of a kidnapping/carjacking.. shiat if it was only that, it wouldnt be as bad but he killed her too... in other words, if this guy gets spared then i guess alot of people just found their new home base....

i mean seriously??

ok i read the rest of the article, so his father figure died suddenly, how does that even begin to justify.... wtf my head hurts

I remember reading a local news story about a guy getting arrested for robbery. His name something like Keith Kristopher Kellerman. What kind of asswipe parent does that?

I have been watching for the last few years specifically to see WHEN one of my ex-coworkers will be on an episode.

/I know she will
//once asked "How can you be charged with drunk in public if you are on private property?"
///Had broken into a locked gate in back yard to go swimming in a pool.

The domestic dispute with kids and drugs are the worst. I saw an episode of COPS where a young female officer responded to a domestic dispute between married crack heads. Problem is they have four young kids, all of whom are terrified of the dad who is getting hauled away to jail.

The sad part was watching the oldest daughter, probably about 7 barefoot and in a little white dress, hang on to the white female officer begging her to take her with her. The officer physically had to unlatch the girl from the officer, and after the officer was crying in her car as she drove away, the little girl chasing behind.fark humanity

It sounds like a pretty fair defense.

The TV show Cops did kinda suck, but at least he wasn't on Real Stories of the Highway Patrol, that would be a concrete defense.

Even then Cops just edged them out for their theme-song.

This just in: shiatty parents produce shiatty kids.

2010-06-16 1:11:08 PM
I like to see the good side and bad side to every story.

The bad side is, the piece of shiat lawyers have something like this to use in court.

The good side is, it's in TEXAS and won't save his ass.

Ouch. Thanks for making me feel old.

*looking, maths are all around*

This made me chuckle.

Hey slayer199: I've never been a cop, but a brother and a cousin are. I've heard pretty much the same thing from them. You deal with the dregs of society day in and day out, and staying sane is difficult.

I think highway patrol is the answer - you'll probably have to scrape some mangled bodies off the asphalt, but at least you won't deal with as many people f*cking their kids.

Yep. It looked like it was from the mid-90's. Some dumb latino kid smoking crack laced weed or something. He keeps calling the cop papi. Pretty funny.

It's not about justifying; it's about understanding how he got there.

nstutsman - can someone point me to the math again where it is cheaper to keep a person alive in prison that it is to hang them?

If the choice is jail or death, death will be cheaper.

If the choice is jail or continuous delays, appeals, cost of expert witnesses on both sides, state DA on one side, court appointed attorney on the other... Jail is cheaper.

No, you just get to see them doing it to their kids in moving vehicles.

I'm not a trooper, but I did call 800-grab-dui one day for a car swerving all over the road early in the day. The highway patrol called back to thank me because mother-of-the-year was three sheets to the wind with two unrestrained toddlers bouncing around in the back seat.

I often think that. Then I remember it'd be the government who conducted the licensing. That might actually make the problem worse.

It would seem that there is an endless cycle of poverty, desperation, crime and violence. However, the simple fact is that sometimes people are just born broken and all of the wealth, privilege and good parenting can't change that.
