Under certain conditions, it's acceptable for passive voice to be used

Chuckles were elicited from me by this headline.

The passive voice's chief purpose is to enable politicians and mid-level management to avoid any direct responsibility for anything.

Son,
I was disappoint?

I don't disagree with this headline.

You're trying to start a passive voice sentence with "I was"! Really. That's your effort.

This shift is the obvious consequence of electing a passive President.

Begun the passive voice wars have.

Passive voice is often used by me, so a kick is being had with these replies.

Rufus Lee King: rp.: Anyway, always avoid alliteration and assonance.

It is also wrong to carelessly split an infinitive.

A preposition is something that a sentence should never be ended with.

For great justice, Zig.

But you have to be strong to your passive.

You can command from the rear by taking care of the dominant hence the the submissive can now be thought of as the dominant one.

This. As an aside, only executive level employees can shift paradigms and revolutionize outside the box while maintaining concurrent revenue streams from their exigent core demographics.

"Where are my keys at?"

Never end a sentence with a preposition.

NOTE: Passive voice can be effective . . .. . . and some disciplines (e.g., psychology and biology) rely heavily on it.

The fact is in some fields, it is better to use the passive voice.

It is in this context that passive voice is most often found.

When I was 7, my father, a well spoken surgeon and son of two educators; told me that if anyone every corrected me upon my ending a sentance with a preposition, i was to immediately repeat myself and add "asshole" to the end. I believe I tried to finish every sentance I spoke for the next year with a prepositon. Unfortunately none of my teachers never corrected me.

/grammar lessons, to me, never stuck

"Where y'all from?"

"Where I'm from, we don't end our sentences with prepositions."

"Excuse me, I'm sorry. Where y'all from, asshole?"

Hey, you're right!

Disappoint is how I ended up being after this thread was read by me.

Let me tell you something, Jodie. The passive voice is left over from English's Germanic roots. Don't be insulting the beauty of Germanic languages.

It's traditional to jam all the infinitives in a German sentence at the end. The subject gets its helping verb close by but everything else has to be segregated, locked away for a long sentence...poland...drang nach Osten...I...can...WALK!!!...

FTA, all anyone needs to know about when the passive voice is appropriate:

"The Oscars are awarded by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences." To most of us, the Oscars are more important than the academy.

I forgot about passive voice grammar since I disabled it. The reminder that it exists, helpful.

Quiz TIME! which of these is passive, which is active, and which is Yoda?

a) If it's never okay to use passive voice, why do we have it?

b) Why do we have passive voice if it's never okay to use it?

c) Passive voice we have, but why is it never okay to use?
