I am so very sad, Molly went to a new home today and I doubt I'll ever see her again. Morticia will also miss her. Lucy and Juno, on the other hand, are planning a party for later.

Bye Molly - you are a very special little kitty.

Angolok-

My suggestion would be to do a listing on Craigslist in your area if you are unable to locate a new home for your kitty. Make sure you include some good pictures and give an abbreviated history of her need for a new home. Also be sure to screen anyone thoroughly who responds to your ad. Your vet may have some other suggestions or resources.

Good luck!

laulaja: This is Debby7813's from the previous page, that ICHC wouldn't give her the SHARE link for. The lower line, for those who didn't use the link to it & can't read it here, is "Outfoxes Rocking Chair".
ICHC NEVER gives me a SHARE link that I can use; therefore, I snatch with FastStone Capture (& sometimes the pic is too big for the available capture field) & re-size on tinypic.

Yeah, it's weird. ICHC must have changed things. They still have the HTML code by the featured LOLs, but when you make one of your own, it's no longer there. I realized by right-clicking on the finished product, & clicking on "properties", I could get the direct link to just the LOL, instead of the whole page. I emailed a complaint, but got a canned answer that basically said, "we're closed, get back to you on Monday". I have used Photobucket for captions, but it's a learning experience. I have no training in any of this stuff, so I'm blundering my way through it.

This is Furrnandina (aka Furry), mother of the 2007 Contest Kittens who are now quite adult & nearly twice as big as she is. She & both her sons (the Kittens) are both combed regularly by my spouse, so their fur's in excellent shape. I thought about trying to caption, but that's actually considerable work (as stated above).

I wish Angolok good luck in finding a new home for his wife's cat. Tasha, the one near here for whom a new home was sought (& much help enlisted) was finally taken in at nearly the last minute by a neighbour whose poodle had recently died. Someone I know who lives in Dayton said she was willing to adopt Tasha since she had a day or 2 off for some surgery, could get her spouse to bring her down here to collect Tasha. Maybe luckily, that's when word came of the neighbour's kindness.

Another cat! Maybe someone else is posting simultaneously so 2 cats who live with us won't be right together (not that that's a problem).
This one is Piiki, who used to be the Visiting Cat. She decided when last autumn came that she no longer wanted to pretend to be feral & hunt for a living. She'd been someone's pet some time ago & either was bored or grew to dislike where she was. We think she's ~4 yrs old, like Furry above who may well have been a bit older than 1 yr old when she had her 3 in our garage.

lajimi: oddmind: ferfer72: my calico Catastrophe
When I was in the Army, someone dumped this pair as 3-month olds on the Presidio where we were stationed. The two Specialists-4 Oddmind named them General Nuisance and Major Catastrophe.

I curse the crappy 1970's "Linen finish" paper and the fact the I lost the medium format negatives.

I did the best I could to smooth out the matte finish without causing the picture quality to deteriorate too much. Hope you like it!

It looks like a professional portrait! Beautiful!

Thanks! Can I caption with this site, too? It's frustrating, because all the LOLs I've made at ICHC are now without the proper code. Jerks.

Thanks for the suggestion! I will definitely try that, and like you say, I will seriously vet (no pun intended) anyone who responds to the ad. Great idea - thank you so much! :-)

I use photoshop fer my captioning needs.

The Gimp is a good image manipulation program, as the price is right.

I like photobucket so far. Their captioning fonts aren't the greatest, though.

I have never used Photoshop or anything like it, really. Computers have mostly been an office machine to me, until the last few years. I have used Photobucket's editing for captions; it works ok. An example:

Oh come on now, you know the pun was intended! (And appreciated too) Also, your post was no thread-jack because it was kitty (or animal) related.

Try roflbot (new window) for captioning.

Oh, and BTW, after you have saved your LOL's at ICHC, open the pic you want in a new tab, and just right click/save as *whatever* and rehost it yourself in photobucket or where ever. You can also cut out their watermark with any basic editing software. I have been doing this for the last month or so since every time I try to link a pic from them it gets deleted with the dreaded "broken link" message. EIP if you need any further clarification.

Many thnxs to QJ, Predle, CooperDaCat, DesertZephyr, Llois, Spinach Gunk and Lar Jorgan for captioning little Hayley.

The rescue folks will get a kick out of them.

predle, I'm sorry I didn't express my condolences for Molly moving on, since you say you may well not see her again. She's so pretty! Not to mention very furry as Himis are ...
Doomsday Aardvark & any other "Scots wha hae" &/or occasional wearers of kilts oughta look at today's haggis thread. We both have, & found it highly entertaining! Including the illustrations of wild haggii.

This is Cali, which some of you may have seen a pic of before. She & litter-sisters Tiger & Tori (brown tabbies, Tori has some orange spots on her back) get their group appt at our veterinarian this Wed AM to be spayed. Cali's been exhibiting symptoms of heat, & tho the other 2 haven't, it'll be well that they'll all be fixed shortly.

Goodnight ferfer72. I'll get your kitties on the organ picture before next Caturday.

Thanks for another great Caturday all!

I second the sentiments to predle. Not much else to say on that. It's tough to say goodbye.

I've actually been lurking in the haggis thread for a while. I found the poem particularly amusing.
