Llois: Cats are nocturnal, so good luck with that. On the good side, if your boyfriend rolls over on the kitten, she'll more than likely just bend (or move). Babies bend, it's science!

Our two youngest have slept with us since they were about 3 weeks old. My spouse, a lovable 280 lbs. or so, frequently wakes up with a very warm and happy cat under some part of his anatomy. Anyhow, cats are well equipped to register their discomfort, even when somewhat squished. Ours have yet to feel the need to complain. Worst nighttime surprise--"playing" with toes at 2AM.

And now, a cat--I am a little late to breakfast, being on the West Coast.

OttoisKing - The first thing I thought when I saw all those goggies was "I wouldn't want to have to be pooper scooper for all of them!" They look happy and you're a saint for taking in goggies who are about to go to the Bridge before their time.

I keep losing track of who says what.... **hugs** to all those who have kittehs who are on "adventures" and making their slaves worried AND also to those who have critters who have gone to the bridge.

I ordered Feliway a few days ago - I'm getting tired of Lucy and Lars being difficult. Lars is picking on Lucy a LOT now that he has energy and wants to play. She doesn't like it, so she spends a lot of time growling and hissing at Lars. Who knows... maybe it'll keep Lars from getting a wild hair and waking me up at night, too. I can hope, right?

Here's the plan for today:

Llois: lajimi: I spent almost 35 years running into buildings and situations everybody else has run out of. Meet one of my VERY best pals.

My aforementioned spouse spent about 27 years in those situations--in Oakland, CA, no less. Here he is with one of the babies I was talking about.

Condolences to Pope Larry II & Yzziefrog, & anyone else who's lost one lately. I was sorta hoping to see marietamm again; have some comments to share about beloved cats losing use of rear legs. That last happened to us before the Internet, when the wee wheels weren't as available, even if one knew where to get a set. She in that situation was our much-loved Cheeky, the Berliner-British cat we adopted from a British service family facing their next posting. Cheeky too achieved 18 yrs.

On the left is Ginger, the 17 lb neuter I mentioned a while ago & didn't take time to seek a pic. On the right is Furry (Furrnandina, mother of the 2007 Contest Kittens who're 2x as big as she is now) in one of their napping-together poses in my spouse's big easy chair. Furry & her sons are at least part Maine Coon, as may be evident

Happy Caturday all!

No cats here, but I have my puppies. Many of you have seen them. Now, there is a pic of my sheltie mix that I really would like to have Photoshopped, and sadly, my sarcasm meter doesn't seem to work when I try to make one. Would anyone here like to take a stab?

Without further ado, here is Murloc Zinfandel:

Update on the kitty situation - Indie moving the littlest babies to the other side of the room where it's cold.
After finding a bigger box for the crew, Booger decided she didn't like something Indie did and attacked her, so I put her and her cage in the bathroom off the master bedroom where they were. She cried all night long. The next night I got her a box and put the little boy in it. The next morning he was behind 5 sheets of dry wall that was leaning against the wall. That took care of her babysitting duties. She spend the next few days by herself.
Yesterday I moved her and the little boy (Damien) into my computer room. She drug Damien out into the living room and under the chair.
I fed him this morning at 7 and when I came to check on him later, she'd hidden him. After looking for 5 minutes, I found him tucked between the cat tree and monitor/cat bed. I put him back in bed and left the door open. She drug him back under the chair in the living room. I gave up and took him back to his mommy.
It would be nice to let her go back outside for awhile, but she's acting like she's in heat. I can't put her back in with Indie because she wanted to go after her yesterday when I was taking her out of their room. I'm thinking of bringing her babies out here for a while so she can be with them.
Has anyone else had this kind of situation to deal with?

Most camera software is unnecessary (at least mine is). Just get a card reader, pop it into a USB port, and you will be good to go.

octawussy: Got a new kitten yesterday. Her name is B-Bot. :) It was kind of a hassle last night, though. She was like a human baby. She couldn't sleep through the night. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the kitty to sleep and not flip out because she's not on the bed with us? (I'm afraid my boyfriend is going to roll over on her on accident.)

As someone else mentioned, cats are nocturnal by nature. However, I will add that she is just a kitten, it will take time for her to adjust to your schedule (especially on the first night!) Be patient. Every cat I have ever lived with has learned to sleep through the night. Usually on me.

/that is one cute kitteh!

No. Your link is to the web page displaying the photo, not the photo itself. Flickr has this oddness when you right click the image. But under the "Share This" button near the top right, you can copy/paste the HTML in total, with the correct location.

You can tell when this is happening because of the lack of ".jpg" at the end of the address.

I don't use Flickr, so I'm no authority... but it would appear you're referring to a URL that is *not* an image.
There is no picture related file extension showing in the message, so I would conclude your link doesn't point to an image.

Yes, Flickr takes a little getting used to, and there's probably lots of ways to do it. I use it all the time, but couldn't find the "share this" button that omris was talking about!

I click the "You" link to see my photostream, then click on the picture I want. From there, just OVER the photo, click "All sizes." Be sure to choose a size that is 640 width or less, because that's fark's limit. Height limit is about 1100 or something that I have yet to encounter. Then copy the blue html code at the bottom--you might have to scroll down. Past that into the comment box, and you are good to go. Don't even have to "pictureize" it.
