$2,00? Still seems pricey for Ontario.

Cop math strikes again! Also, trafficking? Ouch.

Probably.

It's another good example of bad cop math. Better than $16 per gram for weed?

12 ounces?

Jesus christ that's expensive, even if it is just 200 and not 2000.

That sounds closer.

On a related note, the Wawa PD stopped a pizza delivery boy for speeding with what appeared to be $196,000 worth of pizza in the backseat.

60 bucks for an 1/8th of really good shiat is about right. Let's hope they were carrying 12 grams of Headband.

$500/oz isn't far off for top drawer stuff.

Maybe the whole "you can buy it from the store here" thing has really just reduced the prices locally, but that still sounds really high to me

Around here, $400 for good bud. But you can rarely get anything but good bud here in SLC.

I'm finding it hard to believe you can find pot of any sort in SLC.

That seems counter-intuitive to what I know about Utah. It does kind of explain the magic underpants though. I'm conflicted.

It's often a buyers' market in Canada. Whenever the US border gets extra tight with security and the unshipped product is bountiful (which happens every few months), we average about $260 for an ounce of BC bud. Or so I... read... somewhere. Yeah.

Actually, it's pretty plentiful...the I15 is a major corridor, and it is a college town (and liberal compared to the rest of Utah).

Pretty much everything most people know about Utah is everyplace BUT SLC (except the LDS Church running the town). Kind of an island of semi-blue in a sea of red.
The old SLC Mayor, Rocky Anderson, was the guy who debated Sean Hannity.

It's short for Sainte, which is archaic French from the 1600s.

The town was founded in the 1600s by Jesuits who were totally baked.

THIS.
If you can't get 12 grams for under 80$ in Canada, you really don't have good friends

2010-02-01 10:24:00 PM
Well what if you broke that 12 grams down to joints? Say $5 per joint. That's 3% of a gram per joint. Then if you add the weight of the paper, then multiply by the saliva of the guy sitting to your right, that's like $2000.

ChiliBoots: It's short for Sainte, which is archaic French from the 1600s.

"Ste." is short for "Sainte," which is French for a female saint. English does not distinguish by gender in this case. E.g., you have Sts. Pierre, Mathieu, and Jean, but Stes. Marie, Therese, Marie-Madeleine, etc.

Oops, you're right, my French is pretty rusty. The archaic part is the 'Sault', which is this case meant rapids, falls, tumbling water, etc, making the translation 'Saint Mary's Falls'.

If they are paying much more than 2,000 per pound, they can do better.

This is Canada, for God's sake.

I really want to be a cop. But only if I get paid the same way they figure drug values. So if they get paid $50,000 per year, they should really get paid $500,000 per year. Or would that be $5,000,000 per year?

$260-280/oz seems to be about the norm for BC bud here in Minnesota...I'd think it would be cheaper in Canada?

CD$2,000 -> about 150 bucks?

/oblig.

More seriously, it's 100% unpossible for the original data to have been ounces ... for the Americans, the rest of the colonies, including Canada, went metric in the 80's, and this is in a part of Quebec which probably never went imperial to begin with (Franco's are the most stubborn breed in the universe)

$200 for 12g would be about market rate here in Texas for good stuff from CA (or .ca) though we still use ounces and fractions thereof for weed - $400 an ounce is normal for KB, rising a bit for high quality hydro.

Mexican dirt weed aka "schwag" is generally a fraction of that, though the fact that it is regularly sold in quantities of a quarter pound to end consumers tells you all you need to know about its potency :-)

i'm afraid i dont know what a mid is? i would expect to pay 200 for some very very good hydro...ok, maybe 240 if i dont know the guy very well.

in canada...i have no idea how much our weed goes for in amurika.

So to answer the question: No, you don't pronounce the e in Ste. You would say, "Soo Saint Marie." Both the Canadian and U.S. sister cities are pronounced the same way.

The Sault is in the middle of Northern Ontario. It even got into a heap of trouble in the early 90s because of an English only resolution the city council passed.

2010-02-02 1:39:25 AM
HOLY ASS shiatS that's less than 1/2 an ounce. $2000 for 1/2 an ounce must be some reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally farking good shiat, or the Canadian dollar is slumping again.

28 grams=1 ounce. 12 grams is actually like .4 ounces, or some such.

I'm willing to bet there's a type-o with 2 extra 0's on it. $20, shiat bud.
