They forgot "The Bradford University."

I'll sell them the name half price.
2003-04-10 09:14:25 AM
In 100 years they can all look back and laugh
2003-04-10 09:28:39 AM
But we can start laughting right now.
2003-04-10 09:30:07 AM
GOD! What did they name it?! I need closure!!
2003-04-10 09:30:15 AM
Frank_Lee_Mental:- Yeah, ha ha ha ha ha ha. Oh hang on, that's my taxes paying for this. Bastards.
2003-04-10 09:35:46 AM
... oh, and students tuition fees which were previously capped at £1100, but in January it was announced universities will be able to charge up to £3000 per annum.
2003-04-10 09:40:34 AM
Bloody students.
2003-04-10 09:52:26 AM
Why don't they first check which domain name is available, and use that?
2003-04-10 09:58:43 AM
Waz: That costs extra.
2003-04-10 10:22:12 AM
Oh hang on, that's my taxes paying for this

Jay_vee - damn, now ive stopped laughing
2003-04-10 10:55:31 AM
Why not just call it Limey U. and be done with it.
2003-04-10 10:57:08 AM
"Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life son."
2003-04-10 10:57:35 AM
Sounds like my university. I would love to know how much American University spent dropping the "The" in the name a few years ago...
2003-04-10 10:57:55 AM
Oh, you poor fools. You poor, sarcastic bastards. Don't take these matters lightly, lest we forget the Great Turning at the Maryland Institute.

Never Forget!

"Couldn't get into Oxford" University

Yeah, it would be much more profitable spending that money on grants for surveys to discover if cum swallowing makes chicks, or haggets, gain weight. Or if the size of one of your fingers is directly correlated to the size of your billyclub.
2003-04-10 11:01:09 AM
Why not just rename it Duke Sucks???
2003-04-10 11:01:12 AM
The University of Yorkshire at Bradford
2003-04-10 11:01:36 AM
My school just spent $1,000,000 or so to do research on trashing the current logo to come up with this one:

[image from too old to be available]

1 million for someone to run Photoshop and use the text tool with TImes New Roman font. Pathetic.
2003-04-10 11:01:42 AM
Now I remember why I left the UK....

they forgot, The University of Dumbass

If they really wanted to get a better name they would have dropped the word Bradford - that place smells like Satans' armpit.
2003-04-10 11:02:19 AM
Bradford Lite. Could to with a streak of silver through the school crest as well.
2003-04-10 11:03:14 AM
This can't beat the BBC's "new look" a few years back. The BBC spent £5.5 million slightly straightening their logo from slanty to square.
2003-04-10 11:03:18 AM
Bradford State

The Bradford State University
2003-04-10 11:06:12 AM
Strange that the "£" symbol works fine on the main page and in the posts, but not in the article title at the top of this page. [Shows as a "?"]
2003-04-10 11:06:12 AM
£20,000... what is that, like $5.46 in REAL money?
2003-04-10 11:07:10 AM
"The Bradford University at Bradford."

Five thousand pounds, please.

On a slightly related note - I have a friend that pays a "Personal Image Consultant" $300/hour to tell him what clothes to wear and what kind of haircut to get. He looks like a tool. Money well spent, eh?
2003-04-10 11:08:50 AM
My company spent 1/4 million for marketing consultants to chagne our name from "Atlanta Testing and Engineering" which is descriptive, sane, and sounds nice, to "QORE" in all caps, which gives no clue as to what we do and sounds retarded. $250,000 would have been better spent keeping our server from crashing ever 3 hours.
2003-04-10 11:10:11 AM

*slapping palm to forehead*

The Brunching Shuttlecocks!! I had forgotten about them!!!

Thanks dude.

Oh year, I almost forgot: fap fap fap waste of money fap fap fap fap fap fap fap University, Schmuniversity fap fap fap fap taxes fap fap fap fap fap fap fap ad nauseam
2003-04-10 11:12:13 AM
Marketing consulting is a racket I really need to get into.
2003-04-10 11:14:07 AM
BU, UB, or TUB. the choice is obvious.
2003-04-10 11:16:08 AM
So Bradford starts chanting "Dopey screwed a penguin! Dopey screwed a penguin!"
2003-04-10 11:16:43 AM
HAHA my school is going millions in debt and raising the cost of tuition in a desperate attempt to be a tier 1 school. (which will probably fail)

Oh and they almost waste a lot of money on their terrible football team.
2003-04-10 11:20:37 AM
Farking_my_life_away:- About $30,000 in US toy money though.
2003-04-10 11:21:09 AM
Why not just Bradford?
2003-04-10 11:23:45 AM
Baylor spent $40,000 for a new mascot design, and ended up with a ridiculous cartoonish green bear. They will never get any of my money. Ever.
2003-04-10 11:27:40 AM
*points at Baylor people and laughs*
2003-04-10 11:27:50 AM
"Couldn't get into Oxford" University

I think you're confusing this place with Cambridge.
2003-04-10 11:28:09 AM
My family has been coming here for generations though :) Don't really care about the mascot if the football team would win. Everyone here only goes to the games when they're playing a good team. :D

Why not The Bradford?

Hey man, we're fairly competitive in every sport but football.

Hey man, we're fairly competitive in every sport but football.

Kpar, there are no sports other than football (but you do have a consistantly good baseball team as does Rice)

"there are no sports other than football"

There are if you went to Baylor. Or else you'd have to shoot yourself.

/former football player--GO BEARS (please?)
