wow, 5 comments and not one complaint about the popups.. good job people! You're actually "dealing with things without being little biatches!"

"One of the reasons I've become less than enthusiastic about the Internet is because it's just way too chock full of jaded, miserable people who compensate for their loathsome lives by spreading hate and bullshiat to every faceless stranger they come into contact with."

I knew he would mention Fark.

Hey Matt, anyone ever tell you that you look like Stephen Baldwin from The Usual Suspects?
2003-04-04 05:07:12 PM
Hey Matt! THanks for fixing the takeover ad! Congrats!

X-Entertainment is great. It seems like most of my favorite childhood toys are featured on there.

It's only been three years? Man, this might be my FAVORITE site on the net (no offense Fark). Keep up the fantastic work, Matt.

And Matt, if you're listening, you're abso-farking-lutely right on the money about Maine. Great ol' article.
2003-04-04 05:52:33 PM
Thanks for the memory-jogging articles Matt. I thought I was the ONLY man in the world to remember M.U.S.C.L.E figures.

Great stuff.

Matt is dreamy...

the end.
2003-04-04 06:02:50 PM
I feel the need to bake an Alf cake and stick three candles in it. But that would require me leaving my computer and going into the real world.

XE's the only site I've stuck with over the years. Everything else comes and goes. Few things make me smile as consitantly as XE does.
2003-04-04 06:07:44 PM
I always read an X-E article about a day before it is posted here. I always submit it, but for some reason I don't make the cut.
Some day.... some day X-E will get me my first link on the mainpage.
Keep it up Matt.
2003-04-04 06:13:26 PM
Thanks Matt for giving me something to do at "Work".
Congrats on the 3 years
2003-04-04 06:13:41 PM
Congrats Matt, as you know from our talks on AIM, you're one of the few webmasters out there that I can relate to. Doing a site for 3 years takes a shiatload of work... and like yourself, I've become pretty disenchanted at times too (hell, I didn't even celebrate my 3-year anniversary this past year haha), but ya gotta just keep plugging away at it. Well, at least plug away at it until somebody actually hires us to write the crap that we write about.
2003-04-04 06:13:56 PM
Congrats, and Thanks Matt. You're doin a good thing in an environment that doesn't deserve X-E.
2003-04-04 06:42:58 PM
Dunno If you'll ever see this Matt, but keep up the great work. We*the majority* really love and appreciate your site.
2003-04-04 07:01:32 PM
Congrats and Happy net-birthday to Matt AND Retrocrush! The first of the few sites we would blaze through when we got our cable modem 3 years ago...Bookmarked forever, you guys.
(special props to Fark.com (of course) and Whateverdude.com)
2003-04-04 08:55:26 PM
...still the best site on the net!
2003-04-04 10:16:32 PM
Even though fark is my start up page, I have to put XE and Bill Simmons' column on ESPN's Page 2 as my two favorite reads. The "Dollar Store" tales and the "Maine Trip" are classic.

Not to mention Skeletor's Adventures (with Moss Man's arms). Could somehow manage to put a LJN Junkyard Dog figure in one of the stories along with Little Debbie Cakes--because JYD loved to grad them cakes. Or have Man-at-Arms turn against He-Man, claiming the the reason he sucked so bad is that he was actually a Skeletor lackey trying to corrupt He-Man and the King Randor (is that his name?) dynasty. But make sure he had to answer to Stinkor.

Thanks again, Matt.

Amazing site Matt, Im so happy to have stumbled upon it just over a year ago
2003-04-05 12:24:03 AM
Matt, I love your site, and I got to respect the work you have done to it. I have thought about opening a website, but then I think of all the trouble most websites go through (RIP Anti-MTV) and decide to hold off the idea for a while longer. You have got an incredible amount of willpower to put up with the site. Keep up the great work.
2003-04-05 03:14:49 AM
Keep on keepin' on!
2003-04-05 06:02:09 PM
Matt Rocks...he is a proud voice for those like me who yearn to laugh at all the crap I was into when I was a kid in the 80's....ahhh, Matt you rock!
2003-04-05 06:39:57 PM
Congrats Matt, three years of obscure references and your love for Bulbasaur (I kind of miss the Pokemon archive layout). Anyone who hasn't read the Jesus store article owes it to themselves to read it now.
