I HATE Syria. Those terrorists can suck it.
2003-03-28 02:32:30 PM
best. tagline. ever.
2003-03-28 02:33:43 PM
World War 3 is right around the corner. Thanks Dumbya!
2003-03-28 02:34:07 PM
Props to the submitter for the tagline.
2003-03-28 02:34:49 PM

What the fark are you talking about?
2003-03-28 02:35:30 PM
A11 5yr1a R B3l0ng 2 U.5.
2003-03-28 02:35:32 PM
at this rate, rumsfeld will actually turn this into ww3.

we have no mandate from the U.N. but hye you're giving them weapons, we'll bomb you too.

Funny how he didn't tell france to stop selling and making weapons.

I'm sure invading syria will make the whole reorganization of the middle east way more stable, NOT!
2003-03-28 02:35:37 PM
ah, so THATS who's next. Today Iraq, tomorrow the world!
2003-03-28 02:35:44 PM
don't you mean lebanon ? i never recall syria being a major terrorist player. hezbollah, another degree on the 'axis of evil', is based in lebanon, nearby to syria. i could be wrong though being that i wrote this from memory.
2003-03-28 02:35:49 PM
This is going to be a good thread... I can feel it already....
2003-03-28 02:35:52 PM
that link caption is tee-rarded.
2003-03-28 02:35:55 PM
"Homicide Bombers." Yeah, Fox is sensationalist, but I like this terminology.

2003-03-28 02:36:07 PM
And yet another can of worms opened up and ready to go.
2003-03-28 02:36:55 PM
seriously though, I thik RUmmy and the crew need to chill the fark out. We're starting to look like a really bad country. I don't personally want to live in a country that wants to rule the world. Ok, Ok, I'll get the fark out.

2003-03-28 02:37:51 PM
Can someone please explain the "all your bases belong to us" reference? Yes, I'm quite out of touch with pop culture.
2003-03-28 02:38:15 PM
Lame headline. You guys are easily amused.

The first part doesn't even make sense. If Syria were really setting up Iraq the bomb, then that would mean that they attacked Iraq. Clearly, that's not the case--Syria is assisting Iraq.

So, maybe the article could be construed as Syria taking off every ZIG, but definitely NOT that they were setting up Iraq the bomb.
2003-03-28 02:38:18 PM
Since our troops are nearby, we might as well attack Syria, too. Maybe a warning shot over N. Korea and we can kick off the Apocalypse in no time!

Seriously, does Syria have large oil reserves? Otherwise, it's not worth sending the military in. Haliburton wouldn't have any lucrative contract to secure, so the impetus for invasion isn't there.

Maybe UN should come here and rid the American people of our Bush-Cheney regime.
2003-03-28 02:38:25 PM
follow the ho chi minh trail!
follow the ho chi minh trail!
2003-03-28 02:38:30 PM
Okay, I'll admit it: I don't get the headline. But then again, I am sadly uneducated on this particular topic. I would honestly appreciate a synopsis for my antiquated brain. I owe you a beer.
2003-03-28 02:38:32 PM
Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that after seing this headline, Harmonia is foaming at the mouth and at this moment sending Drew a lifetime supply of Pabst Blue Ribbon for reinstatement ?

P.S. So what are we gonna do now pro-war people, invade every country ? Alway told my friend that Syria was as big a threat as Iraq. This is proof.

2003-03-28 02:38:44 PM
There is no chance to survive,
make your time.
2003-03-28 02:39:02 PM
DRFS Rich -- It's a bit silly, 'tho, considering that most anti-personnel bombs aren't meant for just hurting peoples' feelings.
2003-03-28 02:39:40 PM
Swjelley--I believe that syria is more or less occupying lebanon and has been for some time.
2003-03-28 02:39:41 PM
You get signal?

Away f-16's!
2003-03-28 02:39:46 PM
Actually, the homicide/suicide bombers terminology was not coined by Fox News.

As far as the lebanese... I don't see why all the pervs like to see videos of lebanese... "HOT LEBANESE ACTION! STRAP ONS AND LICKING LEBANESE"
2003-03-28 02:40:14 PM
but i am not condoning their actions in any way, they'll just get blown up like everyone not american in iraq. and like Gurn said, this all will make this middle east SOOO much more stable. figure that 9-11 was likely a by product of Gulf War I, and 2001-1991 = 10. so if we take 10 and add it to 2003, we get 2003+10=2013. so would any of us be surprised if 10 years from now any of the millions of arabs we are pissing off planned and struck us again ? i won't be.
2003-03-28 02:40:35 PM
We need a new cliche image for opening a can of political worms. Any photoshop WIZARDS willing?
2003-03-28 02:40:45 PM
I hope the punk Syrians try something. Assad and his evil spawn have made the country a rat's nest of terrorism second only to Iraq.

I think if they challenge us and get a poke taken at them, the Israelis would gladly enjoy a chance to join in on the pummeling.

The Middle East has been in the need of an enema for years. It is going to happen eventually. Why not now?
2003-03-28 02:41:04 PM
As they say, once you open a can of worms, the only way to clean it up is to get another can.
2003-03-28 02:41:24 PM
Ok, Daz...that was farkin hysterical
2003-03-28 02:41:27 PM
The War In Iraq: The next Vietnam, or the next World War? You make the call.
2003-03-28 02:41:54 PM
The headline is incorrect, it should read:

Syria sets Iraq up the bomb.

Funny Regardless.

In AD 2003
War was beginning...to bog down due to bad weather and PR
2003-03-28 02:42:02 PM
I think it's been out of action long enough. Bring on the 2-3 weeks of nonstop AYBABTU mania before it gets annoying again.
2003-03-28 02:42:21 PM
Hey Islamic assholes! Your days are numbered! Long live the America Empire!

/anti-jihad rant
2003-03-28 02:42:27 PM
here we go. get your helmets on folks, it's going to get bloody.
2003-03-28 02:42:30 PM
All the "all your base" / "set us up the bomb" crap came from an incredibly bad translation in some old arcade game "Zero Wing", or something like that. Some folks seem to think that quoting it years after the fact qualifies as funny.
2003-03-28 02:42:39 PM
If these "shipments" are bothering Rummy, why doesn't he bomb them? its not like they're bringing the stuff through the Ho Chi Min Trai? maybe Rummy doesn't want to bomb the FedEx trucks that are shipping the stuff.
2003-03-28 02:42:54 PM
It's not that America wants to rule the world. We're just very paranoid, and not without reason. Still, I feel that our international meddlings are only going to make things a lot worse unless we get this administration out next year.

Cheers to our troops! Jeers to administrations like Syria that blast the US for supposedly 'targeting civilians' but publicly support suicide bombing Israeli women and children.
2003-03-28 02:43:09 PM
bump, all your base
2003-03-28 02:43:10 PM
US to Syria: You have no chance to survive make your time.
2003-03-28 02:43:31 PM
can we petition the UN to remove the Bush/Cheney regime?

as an american who actually thinks for himself, i need to be liberated.
2003-03-28 02:43:37 PM
The world's getting a little too scary.
2003-03-28 02:43:45 PM
erm, thats "http://www.on1.com/allyourbase/"
2003-03-28 02:43:52 PM
Here you go, from the CIA Fact Book:

Following the breakup of the Ottoman Empire during World War I, Syria was administered by the French until independence in 1946. In the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, Syria lost the Golan Heights to Israel. Since 1976, Syrian troops have been stationed in Lebanon, ostensibly in a peacekeeping capacity. In recent years, Syria and Israel have held occasional peace talks over the return of the Golan Heights.

the french. that explains it.
2003-03-28 02:43:56 PM
If yout hink that Bush and his four horsemen of the acpoclipse aren't trying to turn the Muslum world Cristian than you're fooling yourselves/
2003-03-28 02:44:12 PM
should read:

"Syria sets up Iraq the night vision goggle."

Albo, you are such a tough guy! "I hope the punk Syrians try something." Ooooooh, gettin' all Robert Blake on us, huh?
2003-03-28 02:44:26 PM
I just walked in the door and read the first part of this article, and will go back and finish it directly, but I just needed to say this. To all Canadian Farkers, please, if you feel so ,petition OUR government NOW! We need to send troops and support to the already existing Canadian troops in Iraq. I believe that we need to get fully into this effort now No matter what your thoughts, beliefs wishes, this is war, and we need to help win in any and every way possible. Need some snipers guys, we have some of the best, urban and close contact warfare is the menu now. Let your government know your wishes if you support this please. End of rant.
