RTFA. It's not so "God will help win the war". It's so...


(A) to observe the day as a time of prayer and fasting;

(B) to seek guidance from God to achieve a greater understanding of our own failings and to learn how we can do better in our everyday activities; and

(C) to gain resolve in meeting the challenges that confront our Nation.


None of these things is bad IMO. Don't believe in God? Don't do it. However, a large part of the country does, so leave them alone. If you don't want to pray, don't.

Godless heathens. Probably not even circumcised.

This is just a resolution and has no real bearing on anything. It's just a way for these jackasses to get their name in the paper and look good to their fundi constituents. If you want, you can write your state rep or Congressman and they'll draft up a resolution commemorating your grandfather's 75th birthday.

No way is it going to become law. Don't you remember the guy who tried to prevent the pledge from being said in school because it said "under God"? Whoa boy, thank God that didn't go through. Whoops, I said God in this post. Hope he doesn't come after me, citing seperation of God and Fark.

Besides, I think the prayer and fast day is just a suggestion. I have a feeling that everyone who believes in prayer is already praying everyday for our troops and even those tricky Iraqis. Heh, tricky Iraqi. I like it!
