I think any kid that would play with train tracks is sincerely asking for trouble.

2003-03-13 12:32:09 PM
Will make for some good photos on consumption junction.
2003-03-13 12:32:10 PM
Ok, so where's the "Dubass" tag?

This looks like a good PS.
2003-03-13 12:32:27 PM
That is a sign of poor community planning. i.e no parks and open spaces.
2003-03-13 12:33:57 PM
rails? lines? no wonder my nose is stuffed up reading this article.
2003-03-13 12:34:17 PM
This reminds me of a safety video they showed us in grammar school about "train safety." All these kids did these dumb-ass things like walking on the tracks, or touching high tension wires, or throwing shiat at the train, and then they all ended up on this dark train where this creepy train guy explained why everything they did was dangerous, and they weren't just on a train... they were DEAD because they didn't follow train safety.

It was followed up with a Q&A from the train company. Great stuff.
2003-03-13 12:34:37 PM
Hilarity is indeed imminent.
2003-03-13 12:34:54 PM
I feel a new PS coming on.
2003-03-13 12:34:57 PM
I'd hit it.
2003-03-13 12:35:15 PM
Man I loved jumping off of high shait in the day. It is a great rush but, remember, your landing is everything kids.
2003-03-13 12:35:26 PM
Look out kids, here comes the 7am Express, bound for Hilarity!
2003-03-13 12:36:34 PM
Playing around trains/on trains/tracks/etc... nothing new.
2003-03-13 12:37:18 PM
Man, fark should have some rule about linking to media in island nations, this thing is still loading.
"Fark" is a bandwidth killing word.
(Dune, yes)
2003-03-13 12:37:20 PM
Jabba's going to get his butt sued.
2003-03-13 12:39:22 PM
Who's got the Darwin tag handy?
2003-03-13 12:40:14 PM
Good tag.
Ogrish.com awaits the hilarity.
2003-03-13 12:40:53 PM
Mickey's a mouse. Pluto's a dog. What the fark is Goofy. I mean seriously. He drives a car and wears a hat.
2003-03-13 12:41:17 PM
"Fark links to teensy weensy little media service. Bandwidth surrenders. Keyboard bashing ensues."

This reminds me of those funny scenes in "Fried Green Tomatos".

Funny funny shiat.

Sound familiar, Wil?
2003-03-13 12:44:08 PM
Kids are so spoiled these days. Why, when I was a youngun, all we had to play with was a stick and a dead 'possum.
2003-03-13 12:44:50 PM
Saints preserve us! What's next, stickball in public streets, nicking apples from the greengrocer?!
2003-03-13 12:45:40 PM
Big_Bad_Dad Mickey's a mouse. Pluto's a dog. What the fark is Goofy. I mean seriously. He drives a car and wears a hat.

Ah...Stand By Me. Run boys run.
2003-03-13 12:45:57 PM
I'll bet Jabba's pleased with the results of switching from Banthas for his spectacles of carnage.
2003-03-13 12:46:16 PM
Roald Dahl's railway safety guide is classy.

All children that play within a 5 mile radius of a railtrack are going to HELL.

I'm Astar a robot, I can put my arm back on, you can't.

The most disturbing thing about "Stand By Me" was the obvious sexual tension.
2003-03-13 12:53:32 PM
MonkeyKnife - One of my favorites. What a cast huh?
2003-03-13 12:54:08 PM
Was it wrong to pause Stand By Me and rip one off to the dead body?
2003-03-13 12:54:54 PM
those new zealenders sure do party with, ummm...zeal?

i've got nothin.
2003-03-13 12:57:30 PM
It seems the website is farked.

Is this national fark anti-kid day? It seems so to me at least. Even though I hate kids. But I hate most people :)
2003-03-13 01:03:10 PM
It all sounds like a plot to a bad movie.
2003-03-13 01:05:48 PM
That is a sign of poor community planning. i.e no parks and open spaces.

i thought all of new zealand was pretty much like one big park.

those hobbits had all kinds of open space.
2003-03-13 01:11:13 PM
You can dodge it on the way back, Teddy. Skin it.
2003-03-13 01:14:25 PM
Awww, Wil hold me....
2003-03-13 01:14:59 PM
I don't see a big deal about this. It's a hell of alot more fun than a slide and swings in the playground. People have been doing this stuff for longer than any of us have been alive. Yeah, you might be risking your life but what us bungy jumping, parachuting, driving a car, or walking across a street.

Actually, this is a photo of the rare dumbiscus assus, a much more uncommon relative of the assus hattus. Typically known to frequent train tracks, busy highways (where it prefers to lay between lanes of speeding cars with its pack), and electrical power stations, the Dumbiscus Assus can be easily identified by its rube-like cutoff shorts and lack of shoes or teeth. Not known for their intelligence, the Dumbiscus Assus can typically be identified by its haunting mating call: "Hey y'all, watch this!"

Nobody knows how long the Dumbiscus Assus lives because of its uncanny ability to remain ignorant of immenent and obvious danger, inevitably leading to its premature demise.

If you see a Dumbascus Assus, get away as far as possible from it--its mere presence has been shown to destroy healthy brain cells.
2003-03-13 01:34:47 PM
Oh, come on, there has to be SOMEONE here who's been scumming before. Rochesterians? The Pittsford train bridge?

Kids are kids. They're gonna do stupid things, and the one that does the stupidest things is the one everyone else wants to be like. It's the societal norm.

Besides, the more danger is involved, the more brainless asshats get filtered out of the gene pool.
2003-03-13 01:44:10 PM
reminds me of the promo for the new show "Oliver Beene"

"so does it hurt?" (talking about jumping out of a window)-then his brother says-"not when you land in the asbestos!"

Keep that up and pretty soon they'll be going to the bridge to look at the dead headless body...
2003-03-13 01:57:46 PM
You all must be real old. ITS A TRAIN TRACK. Unless the kids are deaf there's no problem...dont you remember being young or were you all hooked up to your C64?
2003-03-13 02:01:30 PM
These kids need to be taken out of the gene pool before they reproduce. Seriously.
2003-03-13 02:06:49 PM
i think you summed that up very nicely...
2003-03-13 02:12:34 PM
This would never have happened before Sept. 11th. Have the terrorists won?
2003-03-13 02:23:02 PM
I for one think it looks like great fun. Haven't any of you swam in quarrys? All kids dice with death it is a part of growing up...
