With that being said, I would lick her toes.
2003-02-26 06:52:20 PM
everything we do is motivated by sex
2003-02-26 06:53:09 PM
I bet a hummer would have sealed the deal with any of these prospective employers.
2003-02-26 06:53:54 PM
Mise well get this out of the way now.

I'd hit it.
2003-02-26 06:53:59 PM
They are recruiters, they are going to be cordial to everyone.
2003-02-26 06:54:41 PM
And guys are dumb enough to fall for it. Sad really.
2003-02-26 06:54:52 PM
I'm looking to hire someone with a firm butt who can have intercourse standing up.
2003-02-26 06:54:52 PM
Someone get her teh stupid helmet to put on
2003-02-26 06:54:53 PM
Good for her, heaven forbid a sexy woman make it in the business world. . . I'm going to send a pic of me in my underwear when I apply for grad school, maybe that will help :)

2003-02-26 06:55:06 PM
What? Men like young and attractive women? No, Never!

The obvious tag never had a better use.
2003-02-26 06:55:16 PM
a salesman, and the Marines.. Both of which are way to eager to recruit in the 1st place.. IF she wanted to test reactions, show up all hippie-like and see what reactions she would have recieved.
2003-02-26 06:55:26 PM
Hope she isn't trying to become a professional journalist.
2003-02-26 06:55:29 PM
So was this her first day as a woman? Wow, nice going there Lois Lane you've cracked the case.
2003-02-26 06:56:09 PM
this is news?...Women learn at like age 6 how to get their way with a wink and smile. By age 12 they're flaunting the sprouts. By 14 they have it all figured out...jeeeez
2003-02-26 06:56:49 PM
2003-02-26 06:56:59 PM
IEE thats my university! *calms down* strangely enough I went to that job fair today. Hmm..
2003-02-26 06:57:03 PM
Ok, that was one of the dumbest articles I've ever read. This biatch is way too full of herself and she isn't even that good looking. The article doesn't even go anywhere.
2003-02-26 06:57:20 PM
How the Hell does she think she got the job with the school paper in the first place ?
2003-02-26 06:57:49 PM
That seemed less like journalism and more like a letter to Penthouse.
2003-02-26 06:58:01 PM
well...Covergirl..if it's anything like that one on your profile and I were the Dean of'd be in in short order..

2003-02-26 06:58:05 PM
I have a feeling that a male college journalist would've discovered exactly the same thing. Because:

a.) As And_Then pointed out, the recruiters are cordial to everyone. They're probably rewarded based on the number of leads they provide, so they'll be friendly and helpful and encouraging to anybody who shows the least bit of interest.

b.) Women are just as driven by sex appeal as men are. Surely some of the recruiters were female.
2003-02-26 06:58:10 PM
Surely this can't be a new realization for her. Most women discover somewhere around the age of four that by batting the eyelashes the right way, our daddies would give us whatever I wanted. From that point on, we never look back. ;)
2003-02-26 06:59:29 PM
the saddest part is that she considers herself sexy. and she thinks the guys she talked to thught she was sexy as well.

what a dog!! woof woof!

I would NOT hit it.

here's a hint: just because a guy thinks you are a whore, does not always mean he thinks you are sexy.
2003-02-26 06:59:51 PM
Should have had the tag COCKTEASE !
2003-02-26 07:00:03 PM
If only those representatives knew they could legally rape her for what she'd done.
2003-02-26 07:00:11 PM
Oops. Sorry, GaryPDX. Missed your post.
2003-02-26 07:00:28 PM
Holy Crap! I think this would be the reason beind Jenny McCarthy, and her "acting career" wowie wow wow.
2003-02-26 07:01:39 PM
[Insert "undercover" joke here.]

2003-02-26 07:01:51 PM
"It seemed that all of the men I talked to responded with nothing but friendly smiles and warm conversation. "

Would she have been happier if they flipped her the bird and called her a whore?
2003-02-26 07:03:16 PM
"with every attempt I made at engaging in what I thought were inappropriate mannerisms, I instead was met with warm greetings and positive reactions."

Those bastards!
2003-02-26 07:03:24 PM
Wow, this is a craptacular article.

What she doesn't see are the guys rolling their eyes and joking with each other about "the trampy chick" after she walks away.

I don't know what she was trying to prove, but she didn't accomplish it. Getting people to talk to you because you dress sexily isn't an accomplishment, and just means that these people are good at being recruiters. Now, if she had walked in with a bogus resume filled with mispellings and a total lack of qualification, and walked out with confirmed job interviews, then she might have something.
2003-02-26 07:03:54 PM
I guess my university is known for churning out cock teases?
2003-02-26 07:04:03 PM
Good lord...EVERYONE uses "sex appeal" in the business world. Why the hell she think men wear uncomfortable suits with ties?

Looks matter TO EVERYONE!

This is news?
2003-02-26 07:04:05 PM
this is pretty silly - she never actually got a job afterall.
2003-02-26 07:04:37 PM
I think its time I switched my major..
2003-02-26 07:04:37 PM
That article said absolutely nothing. She wasn't offered any jobs, after all, and as And_then pointed out, she was meeting only with recruiters who have to be nice to everyone. Were she to try those tactics in an actual interview, she would probably get different reactions.
2003-02-26 07:04:53 PM
Let me get this straight. She thinks her shiat doesn't stink because she had the undivided attention of a CREDIT CARD REPRESENTATIVE?

I'm fairly certain a 12-legged mutant could have gotten the same level of attention from those schleps.
2003-02-26 07:05:10 PM
Let's try to guess which "company" he "represents":

Ah, you can lead men around by their cocks. Especially salesmen and soldiers.

Incredible detective work.

Real test: a team of testers, including
--Slut (check)
--Hippie (suggested elsewhere)
--Overeager Corporate Shill (3 piece suit, hair in a bun, business pumps, etc. I knew a girl once that could swap between the first and third, it was amazing.)
--This was TODAY? (sweater, jeans, sneakers)
then have them compare notes.

A woman is insulted if you respond to her sexually because she thinks you are not respecting her as a person.
A woman is insulted if you do not respond to her sexually because she thinks you are rejecting her as a woman.

The double standard is alive and well.

Women have won some battles against sexual inequality.
Now, it's our turn.
2003-02-26 07:06:51 PM
"My discovery was that many of the representatives were slightly taken aback at the sight of intelligence combined with sex appeal."

Not really, but I think they were impressed that you could hold quite a conversation for a 12 year old boy.
2003-02-26 07:07:30 PM
Start sending me pictures, I'll see what I can do. C'mon, the fate of your education depends on it!
2003-02-26 07:08:04 PM
Is it just me, or does her conclusion totally not make sense with the rest of the article?
2003-02-26 07:09:18 PM
Jeezus...this collegiate article is about as dumb as a screen door on a submarine...

Look out everyone, here comes the next throw-away-p0rn star - cum-student....
2003-02-26 07:10:18 PM
Only an awkward/ugly girl with buck teeth would have to go to these extreme measures to get that kind of reaction.
Any of us with tits and an ass can (and know how to) be a whole lot more subtle with the whole thing.

Exactly my reaction... It's like, "I saw a black dog today, without a leash. Then, I saw another dog with a leash. So, what I learned was that computers can sometimes be unreliable."
2003-02-26 07:11:53 PM
Just because people who make a living being nice to anyone that talks to them were nice to her doesnt mean theyd actually hire her. Perhaps she should do a followup where she sees who actually interviews her, and better yet what shes hired for. I agree with the try various approaches idea. Also a n of 1 really doesnt mean much to me.
2003-02-26 07:13:11 PM
She is not bad in that outfit, but honestly this isn't new information. Hell I can't list the number of crappy co-workers who I have had to work with who were hired because they wore a lowcut top or short skirt. Friends of mine and I refer to it as the "pretty girl syndrom". Since they never really have to work for anything seeing as they get by on their looks they have a stunted skill set and little brain power. Oh well, it keeps the plastic surgeons in busisness.

I thought this was called a "No-Win Situation". No matter what you do, you're in trouble.
